I have had my Gaerne Balanced oiled boots since mid 2009, and absolutely love them. Still on the original sole after 120K + miles. Totally comfortable straight out of the box, though the gore tex liner started springing leaks a while ago.

Sidi Adventure Rain. Very Nice boot. Seems to fit true. Depending on shoemaker, I'm a 11-11.5. Ordered the 11.5 from Revzilla and they fit great.

The Adventures are notorious for being squeaky. I've heard from some folks that oiling the leather, especially the back where the protective plastic and leather rub, with Mink Oil almost eliminates the squeak. FWIW.

Went with a suggestion from a Member and bought the ICON Patrol.
Not a Motorcross style but for my 80/20 riding at the moment they
work great. Plenty of support, waterproof, and flexible. No problem
with rapid gear changes. Comfortable standing up for long periods.
Like the look of the SIDIs but wondered if they are plenty flexible
for gear changes? They do not look like there is enough flex at the ankle.

The Alpinestars WP Scout boots aren't too bad. They are sized somewhere between a road boot and an offroad boot. They are tall enough to tuck your pants into, yet slim enough to fit under your jeans.

I like my Scouts. They offer good protection and I can walk a ways in them if needed.

How tall are the Gaerne G-Midland boots? I cannot find that info anywhere.
I got a pair of these over a month ago. Great Dual-Sport boots, waterproof, replaceable sole, leather, etc. Not true MX boots since the protection is lacking, but the G-Midlands are lighter, and have a much better shifter/brake lever feel for me. Very comfortable, and a great paring with the Super Tenere. The boots are about 13 inches tall, and so far are only available from Atomic-Moto. http://www.atomic-moto.com/ I have a wide foot and can't wear most skinny European sized boots. The G-Midland's are a decent fit, but a touch to large for me (10 US / 44.5 EU). Nothing a thick pair of socks won't fix. Brain at Atomic Moto can get non-stocked sizes, but the shipping from Italy can be pricey.

Sidi Discovery Rain Boots. $315 delivered from Motorcycle Superstore with a 10% coupon from the back of one of their little catalogs. I use to throw them away until I realized they had those coupons on the back.

Been wearing a pair of Oxtar (now TCX) Infinity boots for about 5 years. No complaints. Were a bit stiff to start with but broke in well after a few rides. Initially they were totally waterproof but just lately they are starting to let a little bit of water in (socks just a bit damp after a few hours in rain). They don't have the protection of a full on MX boot for off road riding but they are a lot more comfortable to walk in than any MX boot I have tried. Seem to be pretty well made, I haven't had any stitching or rivets let go. When they finally die I'll be happy to get another pair.

Alpinestars Scout…This is the boot I have too. Decent price for a high boot from Motorcycle Superstore at $250. Pretty well constructed; easy strap adjustment and a Velcro flap at the top. They broke in well after about a month of use and have a lot of feel now. I just completed a twenty-five hundred mile trip in them that included a couple long days and they were very comfortable; not too hot either.

I just picked up a pair of these:

http://www.revzilla.com/product/tcx-infinity-gtx-boots

So far, I like them very much. I have only worn them ~100 miles, but they have been in the dirt. I also stood in a small creek about to my ankles to make SURE they were waterproof.

I got them pretty cheap from someone who bought them but didn't like the fit. Only complaint so far: the "aqua tread" sole is kind of lame. I would prefer lugs.

Just received my SIDI Adventure Gore-Tex a few days ago. I wear a 9.5 US tennis shoes, and the 9.5 Sidi fit perfect. These are beautiful boots and they feel awesome right out of the box. So far, my feet have stayed perfectly dry in the livingroom and the kitchen. I plan to hit one of the bathrooms tomorrow if I get a chance. ::025::

I highly recommend!

I desperately want a set of the Sidi Adventure Gore Tex but the three local dealers I tried said there is currently no distributor for Canada. I tried Revzilla and they get snatched up so quickly I keep missing them when they come back in stock. I tried Motorcycle Superstore and they don,t ship to Canada. I found a set on eBay for a good price but they are coming out of Germany. I'd rather buy out of the U.S. to avoid any unseen fees or taxes. Any ideas?

Got my Sidi Adventure Goretex from Blackfoot Motosport in Calgary. The boot fits me perfectly. Cost nearly $600 last year.

Now that you have had this boot for nine months, what is your pinion? How is the boot fit? I do not have a wide foot.

I have a pair of the older style Combat Touring Boot from Aerostitch made by Sidi that I wore until two years ago when I got some of the brown Forma adventure boots. They are great for all day comfort but not the best for protection. I have a bad leg and sometimes doing all the buckles is hard on me so I wanted a boot with an interior zipper and a off road worthy sole for short rides and I just got some Icon 1000 Elsinores. They are great looking and offer pretty good protection and are easy to get off. They are tight on the calf as many people have stated.

Have had my Oxtar Infinity/TSX for 7 years now and just starting to loose the rubber gearshift cross piece. Shoemaker says he can't sew it back on so used some silicone seal for now. Seems ok. I'd buy another pair easily again but they are now $350. on line. Think I would try the Alpinestars Scout next for only $250. on line. They have them here but more money. They seem very well made. ::001::
