Hein Gericke Rallye III boots
€219 heren in Belgium, 219£ in GB :D

I've just bought a pair of these in the Hein Gericke 40% off Sale. £131 instead of £220. My last pair were the same ones, lasted me five years with lots of action in all weathers and never let water in. They were still wearable but were beginning to look a bit tatty.

Been wearing these for years and there the finest most comfortable
boots I've ever owned . And most expensive . Picked up a almost new
pair off BMW forum for half price . Jeans don't fit over top though .

I noticed the Sidi site description says the Adventure rain has a "soft sole." Now that could mean a couple of things, soft material for the bottom or nice and flexible for easy walking off the bike.

I have been using some Dainese "D dry" s/t boots and they work pretty well but they don't have a sturdy foot bed. No surprise, they're not really adv boots so I get pressure points when standing. So anyway, I gotta upgrade my footwear for off road use.

Can owners of the Sidis and Alpinestars discussed here advise whether they're sturdy and supportive on the bottom so they'll spread the load out while standing? Thanks.

Any of the other Sidi Boots are super sturdy in the sole area. Too sturdy in some cases cause they arn't very comfortable to walk in and take forever to break in. Try the Sidi Discoverys. Buddy has a pair and he swears by them. They are pricey though.

I picked up a pair of slightly used Sidi Discovery Rain Boots just before my Yukon trip and I wore them for 6 weeks. They are ok to walk in, takes a bit to break them in. And my feet stayed dry through some of the worst weather I have ridden in.

Sidi On-Roads. Wore them for years. Bonus - the soles can be replaced. Tried wearing my Alpinestar Tech 4s but they felt too bulky. The On-Roads are great on the road and give plenty of support off road.

Howdy,
Wore out my Sidi Canyons and was looking for something a little less pricey so ordered the 1st Gear Katmandu's. But after having a mid Nov. delivery turn into late Nov. and then eventually late Jan. 13 I canceled my order. Finally went with the Gaerne G Adventure, on sale right now at Revzilla. A $100 more than the Katmandu's but a $100 cheaper than the Canyons. Have not been able to try them on the road since it's been rain, sleet, snow and ice since Sun. but walking around the house for hours I noticed that 1) they are not as wide as the Canyons but since I'm a 10.5 and ordered the 11's my foot fits find even with a good size bunion on my right foot. I do use a Dr. Scholls insert that is only 2/3's the length of the boot which helps to fill that 1/2 size but leaves the toe box open. 2) they are stiff but after three or four hours of walking they are loosening up. As always it's hard to beat Italian boot makers.
Later,
Norm

I have a set of the SIDI Adventure Gore-Tex, I love them.... Super comfy and the sole is a softer, conforming/flexible rubber. Can walk in them all day long and feel great on the bike.. SIDI gets my vote every time-

I have had SIDI boots in the past for MX & Scrambles and I was very pleased with them also. I have been using some old RR boots and need to purchase more of an Adventure boot.

How is the traction on the sole's of the SIDI Adventure's?

I bought a pair of Alpinestars Scout boots after reading a bunch of posts. I wore them last night for about 2 hours, walking around the house, working in the garage, etc. I think they are exactly what I was looking for. I already have motocross boots, street motorcycle boots, work boots, and hiking boots. All of those boots have their place, but didn't quite fit what I was looking for. I think the Alpinestars Scouts will provide a boot comfortable enough to walk or stand in for long periods of time, and provide decent protection for off-road riding.

Traction is good, both for walking and riding/not gonna slip off the pegs any time soon.. I can take a pic of the sole over the weekend..

Where did you purchase the Alpinestar Scouts boots?

I had to order them at the local RideNow dealer. I could not find any dealer that had them in stock, so I took a leap of faith and ordered them. I have ridden the bike a little with them, in addition to walking around some more in them, I am very happy with them. I ordered size 10, they seem to fit just like other size 10 boots.
