I just talked to Jay, at Russell, and he looked up your file on that seat, including looking at the photos you sent. He confirmed that your seat would likely be very similar to what they’d build for me, and my increased inseam length would be an advantage. So I’m very interested. I don’t know...
Thanks for the photos. Yours is exactly what I’d be ordering. Tomorrow I’ll call Russell, and see if there is a noticeable difference in the build because of our slightly different measurements. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can so that we can either wrap up a deal, or you can contact the...
jack d, I’m very interested. Tomorrow I’ll call Russell and see what they can tell me about the difference in our measurements - I’m 5’-9’ and about 185 lbs. After I talk to them I’ll get back to you and hopefully we can work out the details. -Dave
Looking for a stock saddle to send off to Russell. I want to keep my existing Laam saddle for local rides, using the Russell for the long distance rides. Any condition is acceptable, all I really need is the pan.
Thanks, Dave
I had a RDL on my Honda ST1100 and absolutely loved it. It was a saddle that enabled me to ride nonstop between fill ups - 300 miles. Russell was my first choice for my Super Tenere, but the Russell folks informed me that it would add an inch to my saddle height. While that would have been...
Re: 49 States in 6 months on a Tenere. Come join me for a ride
I'm off 299 in Northern California and have camping space, possibly more depending on when you pass this way. I'll keep an eye on your site and watch your progress. If I'm not on the road myself be sure to stop by, you're going to...
Late in the day with the sun behind me, heading east on CA Hwy 36 from Mad River to Hwy 3, through Hayfork, right on CA Hwy 299 to Poker Bar Rd, down into the canyon along the Trinity River, ending at my driveway. I'm home.
The ST1300 was a spectacular machine. For what it was designed to do, it was very successful, still is. But my XTZ does so much more, and hopefully is as reliable as both the ST1100 and the 1300. Good luck moving to the Super Tenere.
I replaced my K76's at 8600 miles. The front tire howled from day one, never really quieted down, and required ear plugs at 60-65 mph, the rear was square when they came off. I didn't spend too much time off pavement with these tires, but when I did they didn't inspire much more confidence...
I know it's not the greatest thing to look at, but I've gotten all day comfort using an AirHawk seat pad on my Laam saddle. Honestly, I think it would work just as well on a stock saddle, and I only use it for those long days on the road.
