Anyone tried them? They look a lot like the old style Tourance, but tread is a bit more open and should be better on dirt... but not as aggressive as the K60. If they get similar mileage as the K60's, but handle/grip better on the road, they might just be a good option for a lot of people. Review here;

Also a bit cheaper than the K60...

Googling them only brings up Revzilla as a supplier - anyone else have them?

Nice looking tire but I don't think it competes with the more aggressive K60. The Distanzia, Gripster, Tourance, Anakee, 705, Trail Attack, Escape, are more in the K76 class.

I agree - but most of those tires will get less mileage than the K60 (mine is going to go 10,000). The K76 might be similar to those but IF it gets better mileage (by using the same compound rubber as the K60, for example) it might be worth considering. YMMV :D

Like the 10,000 mile tire. Until I purchased the Super Tenere I had never got more than 6,000 miles on a rear tire. Currently have 8,600 on a BattleWing that is coming off tomorrow. May I ask your traction control setting and gas mileage?

I think pretty "average" - that is, TCS1 most of the time (if it would default to 2 I'd prefer it), Sport mode, 38-49mpg averaging 42. I ride pretty hard at times, but mostly am quite sensible. I think most people will be able to get 10,000 miles out of a rear K60. Some will get more.

Does anyone have an update on the K76s? I currently run Shinko 705s that replaced a set of K60s.

Does the K76 square off like the K60s? I still have plenty of miles left on my 705s, I'm on the 2nd rear (the front barely shows wear) but would like something that gets more miles out of it. I've had my Super Tenere since June of last year and put over 13K miles on her. I really like the Shinko 705 but would like a tire to last much longer....

Torrence Next and Heidendau K76s are on the menu as well as sticking with the 705s. BUT if most folks get 8 or 9K miles out of them. My mind set is if in in the same class (80/20) the tire cost twice the price it better get twice the miles.

I will be the fly in the ointment.. >:D

I didn't like the K-60 yes it's a rugged tire it last long but for me it didn't hold as well on road or dirt.
Squares off easy and always felt snotty after 4k or so, gets scary in the rain.
I feel the weak point is the solid center strip in dirt and gravel, if it was broken up pattern I would be singing a different tune.
I doubt the K76 compound is as hard with that tread pattern, a bit more road orientated looking but if it grips and you can get 7k out of it that would be ok by me.

Mileage on the K76 should be similar to the K60. Of course your riding style can make a difference. I can easily get 12K miles out of either tire.

I replaced my K76's at 8600 miles. The front tire howled from day one, never really quieted down, and required ear plugs at 60-65 mph, the rear was square when they came off. I didn't spend too much time off pavement with these tires, but when I did they didn't inspire much more confidence than the oem Battlewings. I never rode them in wet conditions (California drought in 2014-2015), so I can't say anything about their wet road capabilities. I was happy to see them go and replaced them with Mitas E-07's - a fabulous tire for my riding style. I'm trying not to bash a tire brand, but I don't have fond memories of riding on the K76's. It's possible someone else may have some experience with a K76 rear and a different front combination, but it won't be me, I'm done with them.

Thanks for that info. I figured if the K60s squared off the 76s would too. The K60 is terrible IMHO once it squares off, I would take a free set only to sell them to get something else.. Guess I'll stick with the Shinko 705s or take a chance on the Torrence Next.

Between KLR(2), DL1000, Tenere(2), and 100,000 miles I have tried many miles on many tires and never found the perfect tire. Most of my miles are traveling which usually ended up being many highway miles at speed. My preference is rough road and twisties but there are only so many of those miles. Sweeping two-lane is another form of smiles. I have tried to be an off-road rider with not much luck and this keeps me from riding roads and areas that are special. Recently purchased Mitas Dakar E-07 to help me feel better about being off-road. They are not mounted but hope to be mid-October.

When you hear about a front tire that howles... it won't cure itself. A front tire that cups... it won't cure itself. A rear tire that squares off... it won't cure itself. A tire that gets poor wear mileage... it won't cure itself. I am not sure the Mitas Dakar E-07 is the right tire but it had good reports from riders that will ride it further and harder than I will.

I completely agree. No one tire does it all. I prefer shorter mileage to sliding around in the wet. I considered the 76 and the 60, but just couldn't stomach the slick. I just mounted a pair of TKC-70's. They were a tough mount. I used some of those words. I have a lot of sand gravel around here. I'm excited to try them out.

My TKC70s have now covered 4000 excellent miles they are great in the wet and dry, and haven't squared off at all, they look good for at least anther 4000 miles.
I had K76s they were uninspiring and the front nearly as noisy as the K60. After two sets of K60 and a st of 76 I had assumed a very conservative style which had become normal. A set of TKC70s was fitted and what a difference magic.
