I spent the night in Spring Valley State Park in Eastern Nevada. Spring Valley State Park is located 18 miles northeast of Pioche on State Route 322. The elevation of the reservoir is 5,836 feet. Beautiful park, great ride but not enough dirt to be really fun so on my return to Las Vegas, I detoured through Kane Spring Valley via Rainbow Canyon. I love this bike and where it let's me go.

Left home August 16 heading to Indy with a group of riding friends for US Moto GP, Slabbed it all the way. Left Indy Monday the 20th working my way up to the Black Hills to meet a different group for the track to Bonneville for BUB Speed Trials. Left the slab in Des Moines and rode minimal interstate until it was time to cross SD on the return trip. I had not planed on riding any gravel or dirt on this trip, however the back country of Nebraska had other plans. I did get in a couple hours on gravel.

Met a different group of riding friends and my Brother in Piedmont SD on Thursday the 23rd. Rode across Northern WY and through the Big Horn Mountains on ALT 14 heading for Red Lodge MT. I absolutely love riding Wyoming.

We left Red Lodge and rode Bear Tooth, Chief Joseph and Wind River Canyon on Saturday the 25th. On the stretch between Thermopolis and Riverton, I spotted my first of 2 other Tenere's. This one was a fast and powerful Black bike's heading north 2-up. We first were waving as two riders passing, then we both recognized the others Tenere at about the same time and it turned into the big wave.

Sunday we completed the trip through northern Utah and SLC on the way to Wendover. Mother nature was a booger and dumped a reported 5 inches of rain on the salt on Sunday. We spent Monday and a chunk of Tuesday working on my friend Dick's double engined Triumph in the parking lot. Had some ignition and fueling issues to sort. We did get out on the salt Tuesday afternoon, Dick was in pre-stage to run when the called the last group was released, he had to come back to the pit and was assured a return to his starting position Wednesday Morning. The Minnesota contingent checked out of the hotel Wednesday morning and went out to the salt for one last go. Dick got his run in for a personal best 127 MPH on the salt.

As I was leaving the landing at about noon, there was a Blue Tenere on the way out. I almost doubled back but our target for the day was all the way back up to Riverton WY. So if either the blue Salt Flats bike or the Black Wind River bike see this, let me know.

Another friend had joined us in Wendover and he had never ridden Wyoming before, and I never get tired of it, so we duplicated the ride down in reverse on the return.

I put the Super Tenere back in the garage Sunday afternoon the 2nd of September after 5788 miles of awesome riding.

Did a day ride to Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
I need some practice at this if I am ever to get
the RR to Prudhoe bay and the Whitehorse rally posted.

Stopped here on Sproat lake just west of Port Alberni to have a look at the last two Martin Mars set up for fire fighting duty, closed for tours today so managed a few pics. through the fence

Philippine Mars repainted and being readied for a museum in the US. Got a tour of this aircraft a few years ago with my son. Kind of cool to be in such a large aircraft that has experimental, flying without a certificate of air worthiness due to all its modifications for fire fighting duty posted, as you climb the stairs to the flight deck.

Hawaii Mars on Sproat lake ready for work, on the tour a while back they said it was around $3000.00 an hour fixed cost to keep it in the air.

Continued west on Hwy 4 with a stop a Kennedy lake, had to prove to my wife that I can take at least one pic. without a motorcycle in it. :D

Kennedy lake

The beach just out side of Pacific Rim park just before Tofino. Should be interesting to see what these beachs look like in a year or so as the debris from the tsunami in Japan starts to reach the west coast.

Perfect day, weather here is usually fog, rain, or soon to be fog or rain. Not many completely clear days on the west coast of the island.

Tofino is quite the tourist spot with lots of activity, whale watching, fishing etc.

End of the road on the public wharf. About an 11 hour round trip from Victoria and close to 600km.

So far this year I have been from my home in Indiana down the Natchez Trace in three days then home 768 miles in one day to beat a ton of rain.
The next trip was to West Virginia with my buddy Muley to ride a couple day with ole Sklbuk.
Next week on the 15th I plan to leave on a short trip to the Gap & Cherohala Skyway. Gotta be back by Tuesday to check in at home then it's off on Thursday to Bixby, Missouri with Muley again to meet up with some more future friends on Teneres for a couple days in the Ozarks . This has been a good year of riding for me :)

Sat and watched football (US-style) and cleaned out the roof gutters. Microbrews were good, though! ::003::

From Yesterday:

BIG rocks under the surface of this creek. The water was about 8 inches deep, and some of the rocks were 6 inches tall ??? I've been through it several times on the DRZ, but a 600 pounder is a whole different animal.

I wish there were a bike in this pic, but the hike to here (Buzzard's Roost FS288) was 200 feet of 45 degree singletrack.

See that's proof these bikes are no good!! What do you mean you couldn't ride it down to get it in the picture?? LOL just kidding. Spectacular pic. Next time carry a photo of your ST and hold the photo out to put in the picture.
