I think your dealer is blowin smoke. Ask him how much time for the warranty transfer
First of all, the coupons were handed out by corporate employees at random events. The dealers were not given any of the coupons and were only given away at certain events of their choosing. Sorry, but most dealers will have no idea about this and there none available for the dealer to acquire for you......
Now for the PDP issue....
The PDP is tied to the original purchaser. If that customer cancelled and requested a refund from Yamaha then the bike is no longer available to the dealer. If the dealer refunds the money to the original customer, then the bike is still available to the dealer and he can then take a deposit from someone that missed the program. In order for the dealer to be refunded the original deposit that he refunded, instead of allowing Yamaha to refund and cancel, the bike must be warranty registered in the original customers name and then after about 30 days transfer the warranty to the actual purchaser. The warranty is valid regardless so it's not an issue.
The bike will be registered to the actual purchaser with the state and not the person who originally started the PDP and the bike will have whatever miles are showing on the odometer when it comes out of the crate!
I am the dealer selling this particular bike and I can assure you sir we are not blowin smoke!
