on my personal dirt bike injury recovery report . I'm almost back to normal , may start some easy trail rides in a few weeks . as is not missing much as the weather here has not been great for the weekends . this morning its 28 to start the day ,might hit 65 by the afternoon.
on a different and sadder note . one of my good friends told me yesterday that he has cancer of the kidney . found a large cancerous mass on one kidney ,surgery is scheduled for march 2nd. because of me he bought a KTM 300 TPI and has become a maniac on the trails . he is in his early 50's and a family man ,all around good guy.... so he has a battle ahead of him and I ask for thoughts and prayers for Chris .... he is always pushing this old man to ride harder. its kinda strange that all my close friends bought dirt bikes so we could ride dirt and almost all of us has stopped riding our street bikes . my friend mike has ridden his Tenere once in the last year(almost two ) .Chris who has a 1290r has not ridden it since he bought the 300 . I ride mine about one day a week ... trees and cows and my on stupidity is what I face on the trails , not SUV's and Peterbilts .... not a close friend but a rider I know last week t boned a car that turned left across his path.... he went over the hood , nothing broken, bumps and bruise for sure . his girl friend slammed into the car , starflighted to Austin hospital .... multiple broken bones and surgeries . absolutely no reason for the crash except the car driver was a (what words can one express to describe this level of not caring enough about anyone or anything else but themselves ) complete fool.
