Got to the demo event at 1015 and were the first two riders to sign up. So the first demo ride of the morning was 2 Yamaha guys and carrot and me00C68E1E-D080-4860-97B1-296B871DCEE7.jpeg5ABEF0AE-3F89-45D4-B862-C31BC5847A06.jpegF55521F3-D212-409E-B99B-58A62BE15960.jpeg70602D65-97EE-4E1C-BD59-B433ED834D68.jpeg30501303-3F27-4789-B917-99084E829A4E.jpegA5BA14FE-65DF-4E44-BDD3-E207D7DAE98A.jpeg1674C37E-92E8-49F9-96F8-09986545AD55.jpeg5848A350-7C9D-45E0-A6C0-85A32428774E.jpeg

about 38 when we left the dealer for a 20 mile ride . kinda brisk . more riders were lining up for their rides after we had returned to dealer. yesterday was cold and windy and they only had 4 guys do test rides.
so the bike is taller and longer and skinnier than my t12... the motor seems rev happy and the throttle was light. ergo's took a few minutes to get comfortable with ,them it was very natural . when I have ridden a KTM 690 I felt I was sitting on top of the bike . the T7 I felt I was in the bike (more so as I rode the lowered bike ) . the bike was very nice on the highway , handled the curves better than a 21" wheel would suggest (Africa twin felt vague and felt as if it was falling into corners ) . a nice motorcycle indeed.
now would I buy one ? yes I would . will I buy one ? not sure where it would fit in my riding interest , style , type. if I could only have one bike then this bike might be the one . I will have to think long and hard about this one . it is affordable enough to fit into my life . could ride the 1200 on big trips , the 700 around town and special exploration rides , the Beta for trails . love one neglect the others , why having more than one wo#@n at a time in ones life quickly becomes a problem ... bikes don't get jealous ,forget what I just said ... one can have three.

I really like the looks of that T7 and the fact that is about the simplest bike built these days is a big plus for me. I have not had the opportunity to ride one but it looks like a bike I would like.

it is simple ,almost too simple. it feels light on the ride , it corners well , power is enough to do the job. not a lot of wind protection but at least no buffeting or head bobble. might be better to trailer to where you want to explore then have at it. I think my big Tenere is a better travel bike in weather protection , power , carrying capacity , and overall comfort. t-7 for everything else.

for those who follow this thread , not much happening . my back is feeling better everyday so I'm ready to do some easy trail rides . lots of weather on the weekends has stymied riding sooner . today and tomorrow look to be excellent days weather wise but have honey do list to tackle today and tomorrow .... when the weather is bad on the weekends its hard to ride or do honey do's.

carrot and me had a great day test riding the 7's last week . I can think of a lot of more expensive bikes not as nice to ride . I think he is going to sell his 2012 Tenere . I keep pleading with him not to as it is a better travel bike for those occasions.... hard to love 3 bikes equally so I get it. I have almost abandoned my Tenere since I started riding trails , maybe one day week I ride it ,then there is weather ... I will post some pictures of my day ,maybe....

I am 64 years old. I feel pretty good . my back is better each day . I will never be a fast dirt rider .tight first gear technical is my favorite . I like them woods . I will let my friends lead the way , I enjoy watching them fly. and I will try to leave the whiskey alone....

it has leather and all the nanny features , gas milage is better by 5 mpg than the mustang . it's quiet and comfortable and 150 dollars a month cheaper . not to mention the savings on insurance . I may look around and find me a project vehicle to play with ..... it's in my driveway already ,my 2017 ram 4x4 crew cab with its 6.4 Hemi . it was faster and is faster than the mustang.going to do some mods on the truck starting this Friday with a spray in bed liner.... then I have a list to make it a better off road truck ... probably a level next , pretty tall so do not really need a lift . new bumpers or at least a good brush guard . maybe a winch etc...
the mustang is an high performance eco boost with about 30 bhp than a regular eco boost . turbo boost lag kept the car kinda slow in the first 3 gears , having to wait for the boost to fall back to make a clean shift . was getting tired of corollas blowing my doors off. now once you were at seed it was a different car ,very responsive and quick . more of a touring car to me. it was fun and I enjoyed it ,but time to move on.
I'm thinking the wife will steal the Mazda away from me and I will trade her honda CRV for something more fun for me . that is an option.
the Mazda had an MSRP of 30,400.00 ,they even gave me a 500.00 discount on the new car. had lots of equity in the mustang ,and by trading now it will be better for me and my wife as I get ready for retirement.

Saturday I met carrot ( a forum member) and his nephew wild thing ( not a forum member) at San Marcos motorcycles . Wild thing traded his clapped out gas gas 250 for a slightly used 2020 beta 300 with 15 hours on the clock. I’m not with them today, had to mow my moms yard . But they be riding at the ranch. Here is a few pic’s . A very nice bike…. San Marcos motorcycles in San Marcos Texas , a great friendly dealership , sells a lot of beta . Almost as soon as they show up they sell . Also sells sherco . And has at times some interesting used bikes you probably forgot about.
