I LIKE IT!!! But ... do we have it on good authority that loud pipes do in fact save lives? Is this a solid premise? Are we confidant in this assertion?

Do we have documentation on this? Was a study done ??

I can't be sure ...... R

Okay, point taken. But it still seems like a bit of a non-sequitur ..... sort of like ... Noise Pollution is the Solution to Deafening Silence .....

OK, it's early here. And I guess I have strayed off topic ... I'll go listen to a Harley for punishment. ::025:: Good morning, everyone. R

So, I decide to sleep in a bit this morning and when I check in late, I've missed all the fun!

If I could find it, I would post the infamous South Park episode on loud pipes..... ::017::

That episode is a CLASSIC! I'm normally not a SP fan, but that one had me laughing from beginning to end.

I agree. They get a little too rough for me most of the time, but every once in a while, they nail it. If anyone has a link to it that might work in Canada, please send it on ... eh ??? Thanks. R

::015:: I want one! Can you imagine how fun it would be to walk into a bar full of cruisers parked in front, take the jacket off and display these words of wisdom? Priceless! In NM you might need a Kevlar vest underneath though... ::003::

It is clearly an issue that has been a long time in development. Regarding "enforcement", it may be too late to halt the forward progress in some areas of the country, but it is certainly not too late to turn the trend in others. Responsible behavior will leave the inferiors (non-bikers) with nothing to complain about. If we behave ourselves, and encourage fellow riders to do the same, people will accept bikers as regular folk on two wheels. We are largely responsible for how people view us. As the old saying goes, it only takes one .......

Let's all be careful and courteous out there. R ::26::
::026:: Well said!

Hi,
Me once more. Thank you all for a very ‘lively” discussion. I love the T-shirt! I think I accomplished what I had set out to do, raise awareness, get people talking and thinking. So please think about what you do and how it impacts the rest of us regardless of where you live. Join the AMA. They haven’t always met my expectations but that is more in the past and less today. They were a major player in getting the lead ban overturned for youth motorcycles and ATV’s. And don’t be bashful about pushing back at the Manufacturers. If Akropovic has attained EU approval let them know you’d like to see EPA too. I’m sure that is not going to be cheap but it will give them a competitive edge over the their competitors. The quickest way to change unfortunately is usually through someone’s wallet. I for one would not hesitate to purchase their exhaust if it was EPA approved. Who on two wheels would not want a weight reduction. It’ll let me carry more “stuff” when I head out on the road. Love the forum, hopefully I’ll meet some of you “on the road”. I'll chill now.
Later,
Norm

Mission accomplished! The Leo Vince Factory Evo II Carbon Slip On w/Carbon Tip arrived yesterday and I installed it today. The installation was a breeze and the fit was perfect. The carbon pipe is the perfect color for the Raven S10.

At idle the sound is a bit deeper than stock but not loud. In my short test ride the sound was similar to stock, maybe even quieter, at constant RPM. Open the throttle and the sound is louder than stock. In my opinion, it sounds great and not constricted like the stock muffler. The engine also seems snnapier than before but, again, it was a short ride and I need more time to feel the bike.

So far things look very promising. This weekend I plan to do another TBS as things may have changed since I adjusted the CO setting and now with the slip on. I'll add my findings to the next update. Can't wait to spend more time with the new setup!
