I picked up these little guys from Cycle Gear for $20. I had to do a little work to make them fit but they work great and look even better.

Those look great !!! I should have gone that route.. Some of my dealers sell all types of LED turn signals for $20-30 bucks... All of them are made in China, even the "Yamaha" ones.... Great job !

Those look nice. I just got some aftermaket led turn signal myself, but before I installed them, I want to get some face plates that I think I'm going to need.
Can someone please tell me which ones I need?

I haven't seen anyone selling the adapters needed to go from OEM signals to after-market LEDs. I think most are plastic. I have a stainless design I'm working on that entails an inner aluminum retainer plate and 4mm aluminum center piece. The outer plate on the fairing is bead-blasted stainless. The whole sandwich is held together with a couple dabs of RTV and the LED stem.

I think I may tend to over build things.

Thanks Mike,

Went to the Yamaha dealer today and ordered some adapters, not for S10, but I'm hoping they'll work, if not I'll do something like you doing.

Post some pictures after you done.

I bought the one sold by Yamaha, the one I bought is at least 50% brighter than the one that comes with the S10.
Can you buy the Yamaha one from a US dealer? If not, who did you use?

Thanks! I think this will be my next mod ::013::

I bought mine from Yamabits in the UK and had them shipped across the pond. If I recall correctly, you can't buy them from dealers here because they are technically not approved to be street legal. These LED blinkers are not specific to only the super tenere and seem to fit other Yamaha bikes as well. I don't see them listed on Yamabits anymore but the part numbers as follows if you want to do a search:

Black YME-W0789-00-00
Carbon-look YME-W0789-20-00
Chrome YME-W0789-10-00

(FYI, they are kind of pricey)

Hey, that's my bike!

You can also order them from Canadian dealers for about $80 a pair (that's how I got mine).

I got my parts from this small Yamaha dealer http://www.oakvilleyamaha.com/ but I'm sure that any Canadian dealer can help you.

They also have nice adventure Stadler jackets.

Funny that I have them here in Canada and ordered aftermarket from USA, we're just helping each others economies ;D

Well, I got one of the four LED's installed on the right rear. I didn't take any pics yet but have the other side to do before I get to the front indicators. I was able to use the rubber grommet which goes through the tail section. I did have to make two small spacers out of aluminum for the larger threaded stud to go through. Again, I will try to get pics.

I had the same flashing problem after installing the oem LEDs with all 4 resistors. I then remove only the front 2 resistors and all worked well. Learnt it from a guy in SA.

Yes, made and sold in the USA.

The ELFR-1 replaces the original flasher relay on the bike. It's plug and play ... so just remove the original and plug in the new one. It controls all the turn signals on the bike.

Mike, where is the OEM relay located? I haven't been to the manual to look yet. I know if should be on the RH side of the bike, just above the battery. Which one of those relays there is for the turn signals?

Installed my led signals, I grind the relay switch smoler and V shape so it would stay and fit the rubber thing.

Jeff,

As the link and pictures above indicate: It's at the top on the right hand side, and is the second one from the left.

I was looking for a way to mount the ELFR-1 when I noticed there is a depresion in the mounting panel just behind the first relay (next to the flasher). The ELFR-1 fits in the depresion like it was made for it. I used a little sticky-back velcro to hold it in place. Sweet!

Grinding the tab down on the ELFR-1 is also an excellent idea and uses the existing mounting system.

Good job you guys! I understand there's a convenience factor in using the supplied load resistors, but that's really not the best way to go for a variety of reasons. Glad to see people are finally posting up installs using solid state flashers. Nice work mounting ELFR1!

I'll probably go with the Kisan signal minder to gain some safety features such as using the blinkers as running lights, etc since my South African spec bike doesn't have that. As much as I don't like the bulbous shape of the US spec blinkers, I really like the idea of increasing the size of the visual signature so that we might be better noticed by cagers.
