I replaced mine on the 2012 for the $27 price and it did make a nice improvement, but only in the 3200RPM zone more or less. For $300-$400 I would not do it.

I found no performance negatives by going to the newer basket. I did find out how much I was trying quickly ride thru the 3,200 rpm range in order to minimize the vibration. Now with the '14 basket it's just go without any worries & no issues at any rpm.2daMax said:A question to those that have changed, does the heavier GEN2 basket affects the bike's response?
2daMax said:Someone did the Gen2 basket change to his Gen1 bike and he says it seems to respond slower and making the bike feels less powerful. Do you guys who have a Gen1 bike with Gen2 basket feels like this?
He says that he is going to switch back to Gen1 basket when he gets a chance. Or perhaps he did something wrong in the assembly?
I don't know what he could have done wrong, but I didn't experience any kind of a negative effect. The only difference I saw was the vibration @ 3K rpm was gone. Listen to all the positive results, not one negative one.2daMax said:Someone did the Gen2 basket change to his Gen1 bike and he says it seems to respond slower and making the bike feels less powerful.
