Does the Tenere not have a couple of these power sockets, or is this something different/better?? I'm not familiar with them. R
It comes with one "standard" cigar lighter type socket. These do not prove to be very reliable for plugging in accessories. The Powerlet style (AKA BMW, Hella, John Deer, etc) are very reliable and all are totally interchangeable.

The Super Tenere comes with a single cigarettelighter-type socket.

There is a thread about powerlets already in progress here: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=678.0
but briefly, there are many sources of the powerlets and many styles, but the manufactures page is: http://www.powerlet.com/
They are much more compact and seem to not have the issue that the cigarette-type connectors have with coming loose.

Also, if you have the long, or standard powerlet receptacle, you can make it the short version by cutting down the blades and soldering the wires on. I did this with the ones off my wing and it worked great, and saved some money.. ;)

Good idea! I just ordered a pair of the short versions "PSO-007".

OK got it. I'll wait and see. I don't really have anything to plug into one right now. Jeeze, just one more thing I'm gonna have to buy. Is there no end to it? Good thing I'm not young and don't have the money. It's better to be old and not have the money. Now I just don't care. R

Well, I'm gonna look at some heated clothing one of these days. As soon as I recover from the panniers, my new motorsickel trailer, my yet to be ordered Altrider stuff, my uppy downy windshield from Oz, and the bike itself, I'll be ready for some heated clothing. Of course, by 2027 it may have warmed up so much I won't need any. R

Word on the street (that would be word from Sue), is my panniers shipped today. I had them take there time to send (and charge me) since the bike wasn't coming anytime soon. That got me an extra 5 weeks, without being charged, from the time I ordered them. On there way now, though, and my credit card bill reflects it. Luckily I saved up to pay for them before ordering so just before my credit cards "grace period" is over, I'll pay it off.

I've been going through the house and garage digging up stuff to sell that I don't use anymore. Dumping some of that money into accessories and the rest goes in the coffee can for bike down payment. Amazing what a person thinks is important to keep even though one isn't using it. I'm pretty good about getting rid of things before I let myself buy new things. The inbound Super Tenere, though, is really putting that philosophy to the test. It takes a whole lot of little things to make a dent in that price tag. My wife is digging it though. She supports anything that makes me round up and sell some of the stuff I tend to gather. Ha.

Ha, indeed. Great minds, or so they say. My KLR just left the grounds last week. Sold.

Now just the Zodiac and motor and I'm in pretty good shape. Maybe the dogs. And I hardly ever use the washing machine anymore. It's all for a good cause. R

I've been on the selling war path too.. Sold that old Monark 125 that I picked up out of a barn 15 years ago for $50 it sold for $2500. Not bad!! Sold the pontoon boat for $3750 doubled what I gave for it 10 years ago. I still have more to go, Anyone looking for a basket case 250 Montesa or a 350 Big Horn with a blowen piston and 1000 miles on it. come on E Bay.

I've cleaned out most everything that I had for my KLR (along with the bike itself). Since I'm hanging on to the FJR for a while, it's hard to part with stuff associated with it.

:)

Out with the old, and in with the late ... uh, something like that. Gotta be done. I went through all my Micatech parts and pieces last night. Couple of little things missing, no biggie. You guys might want to do that if you haven't already. I was missing a few lock nuts, which I'm pretty sure I can get in town. Also a set of instructions for a package of goodies ... I didn't know what they were for. Sue send me the info this morning. Don't want to come up short on the BIG DAY of the installation. Heh heh. oboyoboyoboyoboyoboyoboy But I'm NOT excited. R

Just got my bags in WOW, yes indeed I am very very excited now. These are incredible. The fit and finish is excellent. It has been a couple of years since seeing them up close. They will certainly make the super t a hit. Can't wait to get them mounted. I was thinking I would mount them to my DL, then my friend decided he wanted it NOW. I stammered, and stalled, but will sell it to him this weekend. Now, I stare at boxes, lights, grips, throttle locks and NO BIKE!

OK everything is included and accounted for, about the only thing I don't like is I find the brackets much too friendly for "quick" removal. I'll have to figure something out to resolve that.

Good stuff !!! Yes, they are mighty handsome units. I hope I can hang them on my bike before I am able to hang them on the Christmas tree. I wonder how they would look on my Kubota ???? R
