Finished with the installation of the PCV, O2 Optimizer and Autotune ... still missing the switch to change AT from learning to off ... thanks to all in this forum and waiting Tabasco, Speedstar, Blueyes and Japako to come out with maps to download and install.
Cheers,
Roberto

I'm gonna call Hans, my tuner and order the AT from him, while I have him on the phone I'll ask him how to gain control over the optimizer reserved area when using AT.

Great... I would like to see what he has to say about it... Look forward to seeing if this might be possible.. If so it would be EVEN better..... ;D Also keep in mind that Ive "been told" that there are dip-switches in the optimizer box... Evidently you can go change the dip-switches to do different things. I have not opened mine up, and I dont know what they look like or what the settings are or could be.... Dyno-jet told me about this.... I wounder if you could set them to 'off' and have the factory 02 almost be a slave to the AT 02 ? I would like to have the AT 02 fill in the parameters of the closed loop 'area'.. I would like to see this on a floating scale and not a fixed scale...... Hope we can get a "NO" or a maybe from someone ?

You can still install your 'good map' and start AT.. It will then start tuning your 'good map'.. You dont need the on-off switch yet.. Not sure if your not riding your bike because you dont have the switch yet, but you can and then you will start to see the difference between what you thought was your "good map" and your new AT custom map............. Let us know what you come up with........ After you run the AT for a bit of time, take a screen shot and post up your new trim and then the new map with the trims saved..... Make sure you save the trim's each time... :)

Jus spoke to Hans about the O2 area. You cannot adjust in the O2 area by using the AT he told me. Hans said that this area was already set to a lean A/F mix. He also indicated that there is a "non standard" way to manipulate that area but that is not to be done by "end-users" (like me)....

I am not really interested in doing that as a mod, and there will always be the issue of European and US petrol influences...

So apparently there is a way to get some sort of control over that area, it's just for the Dynojet guys to do that.

What happens if you install the PCV without the O2 optimizer? They aren't connected by any cables if I remember correctly.

Was up all night with the one year old last night, so please forgive me if the answer for this question is obvious. ;)

No problem,

The PCV for the ST comes with the optimizer. You need to run this to richen up the closed loop that the ECM is looking after. This is 13.6 VS probably 14 /14.2./.3/.4... The target AFR is 13.2 on some of our AT targets right now. So the 13.2 VS the closed loop optimizer 13.6 are close... The AT works all around the closed loop area and dialing it in. In the closed loop its a static 13.6..

Yesterday I received Jaxon's box, with the stainless steel bungs, so I couls start installing the AT.

Worked all night to get the hole drilled in exactly the right place for the bung and installed the AT.

The headerpipe is now at the welder to weld the bung. That will hopefully be ready monday, as he did not have time this weekend.

One question regarding AT and PC V, as I cannot get hold of my tuner Hans since he is abroad..

The AT comes with only one CAN termination plug. And the installation instructions indicate to install the CAN termination plug in the AT open port.

On the internet I find many post of people indicating that TWO CAN terminators are required, one on the PC V and one on the AT….

Do you have one or two CAN termination plugs installed?

According to the pic's in this topic you only have one CAN termination plug installed as I do not see one on the PC V...

Do you get the trimtables populated? That is what is posted by the folks that indicate that two CAN termination plugs are required (one on the PC V and one on the AT), they have the problem that the trimtables are not being populated.....

Plz let me know, I want to start tuning the minute the pipes are back.

Just finished installing AutoTune and did my first ride........

IT WORKS!!!! ::015::

Trim table was generated and I could already notice that the bike ran smoother and felt even more powerful than ever, eventhough I had TCS in TCS-1 where I normally ride it in TCS-2!

Man, what am I happy that I did this and that it all works flawless.

Can't wait to get riding again and get the trim tables narrowed down. ::014:: ::014:: ::014::

Congratulations Blue Eyes ... I also installed a switch to change between learning and the base map but ... how do I know which is working? ... do I need to install the LED module? ... everything else is working fine and very pleased with the results.
Cheers,
Roberto aka Thagua

auto tune fitted 8) only rode her 2 miles home though, but today im going for a blast. wonder how long it will take before i notice any difference? im hoping it'll stop the popping a bit. also as the weathers got quite a bit colder and damp here in the uk, my bike has a couple of times spluttered when pulling away and stalled when warmed up. im thinking the auto tune will sort this out.
another question, i have been running my bike with the baffles out all the time even when all the work was done tuning her.
now then im waiting for some new baffles to be delivered as i ruined the one that came with the remus end can. i have not ridden the bike with baffles in with the whole new set up, and was wondering when i put the baffle in will it make much difference to the power as in decrease it???
and if so will the auto tune compensate for this by optimizing fuel?? also how long does it take to start making noticable changes??
gonna borrow a laptop later to get the maps printed too ::008::

The default is set to 60seconds, so AT starts working after 60 seconds. You better set the trim % to 30 so it has more room to change the initial values since in the beginning the changes required will be the biggest. After you have driven for a while (let's say 1 hour) you best accept the trimvalues and start-over the process (drive and accept trim values). These iterations hone in the perfect values to the map. So the process is: drive, accept the trim values, drive, accept the trim values, etc. etc. untill the trim values are 0 or close to 0. Then you have the perfect map, and after that you will hardly ever need to accept the trim values as they will be minor, and you can set the trim % back to 20 or 10. The AT will then continously adjust the map with minor trim values dependent on the environmental changes/variables (air temperature, fuel quality, altitude, humidity, etc.)

But......... you need a Windows PC hooked up to your PC V to do this! Better leave the USB cable connected to the PC V too for the first weeks, so it is easier to hook-up your WINDOWS laptop without the need to remove the right side panel to connect the USB cable.

Read the Help file in the software, it is pretty much self explanatory.

unbelievable difference with the auto tune fitted 8), ticks over without a murmer, ridability in low revs 100% better, and no dips in the rev range at all. the popping when throttling off has vertually gone, and was getting better all the time. only done 50 miles though had to get back home to do something.
so yeah im well happy £360 worth spending, it surely cant get better than it is. or maybe it can with the ECU flashed :)) :)) ::001:: ::26::
