    March Moto Madness

I know this is kind of a dead thread but the event is next week so I figured it would be ok to revive it. This will be my first time attending MMM. Camping on site with 3 other friends (DR650, Husky 510, and an Africa Twin). I will be on my '13 Super Ten. I hope to see some other Super...

TKC 70 will work good for you on that terrain and they handle excellent on pavement.

    Camping on Blue Ridge Parkway

Well I am back home from my trip. Thanks for all the info guys. I camped Monday night at Crabtree Falls. It was clean and quiet until the whippoorwill at 5AM. I ate lunch on Tuesday at 13 Bones in Mount Airy, NC. Best meatloaf I've ever had. Hotel in Waynesboro, VA Tuesday night. The...

    Camping on Blue Ridge Parkway

I am starting a 5 day 1700mile trip on Monday 5/15. Will primarily be following the BRP up to Shenandoah Valley. I'm looking for any advice on places to camp. The best spots and the ones to avoid on the BRP. Thanks in advance!

Front fork alignment after dropping her

Riding dirt roads last week with a buddy my tenere went down in a muddy turn. My friend was riding it, I was on his DR650. The forks tweaked ever so slightly out of alignment. Crash was at about 20-25 mph. I loosened all the triple clamp bolts and turned the forks slightly in the clamps to...

Is the Super Tenere an "Old Mans" Bike?

I would say, "It's a mature man's bike". Which old or young have nothing to do with. It is the bike for the man who is more interested in function than form. I am 34 and my first two street bikes were SV650 and VFR800. I had them because I thought they looked cool. I think the S10 looks...

    In defense of Gen 1...

::026:: I could not have said it better myself. I too have a '13 that I bought in fall of '14 at a steal. I have 13k miles on her with no issue what so ever. The only changes I have made to the bike are crash bars, skid plate, Parabellum Windshield, and Oxford heated grips. I have ridden...

    Gauge cluster sun damage ?

Re: Gauge cluster melting I have had the same issue with a parabellum windshield. Actually melted the tail end of the tach needle. Luckily did not effect the accuracy any. Now I try to make a point of covering the dash when parking in the sun and I sometimes cover the windshield with my...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Performed TB sync. It was pretty close, just required a small adjustment. Re glued left side heated grip. 5 min epoxy lasted a couple weeks. It bonded to the handlebar but not to the plastic inside of the grip. Tried Loctite Stik'n Seal Adhesive. Time will tell if it works.

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Finished off my heated grip install by connecting the battery leads to the oem plug (Gen 1). So the grips will only work when the engine is running. I got the required connectors from cycleterminal.com SUPER EASY! and made for a clean install! ::008::

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Installed Oxford heated grips in anticipation of colder weather. Still high of 90 here in GA tho. I don't like wearing big bulky gloves so I'm looking forward to getting some use out of these. After some deliberation, I decided to mount the controller on the inside of the left handguard.

Any idea where this part could be from?

Looks just like the center stand bushing. And sounds like that's where it dropped from. On second thought...I think the center stand bushing may be thicker and made of aluminum. So yeah, probably fuel tank mount bushing.

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Put a new TKC70 on the front. The old one was so cupped that it was giving a bad vibration. I know several here have had this same experience with this tire but I am trying another one since I still have plenty of tread on the rear TKC70. Plus this tire fits my riding style perfectly. (Fast...
