Hey Ace50! can you share the picture of your highway pegs? I want to do that to my ST in the near future. And my wife can use my pegs a couple of minutes to stretch her legs.

thanks!
Motowerks is the company you need, S10 specific highway pegs

I made my own pegs as I don't use a skid plate or bars.
Should be an easy project with this set-up.

The only thing that I would worry about is dropping the bike (even in the driveway) and pushing the peg into the cases. I am working on a mount for my skid plate which will keep the footpeg bolt lower than the cases, just in case of a BOO-BOO. ::021::

It does become the crash guard, doesn't it. Hopefully four 6mm screws/posts will hold the bike up. Nicely done though. ::008::

If there were 2 or 3 bolts in the same plane that might be an issue, but do you see the radial pattern?
That's a very strong set-up. Even if it did bend some, it would still save the cases.

There are a common design like this in use on FJRs. What happens when you crash is that the bolts bend and you get a little seepage from the gasket there, but nothing to be alarmed about. The footpeg plate can also bend, but is usually just something you can pound flat and re-mount with some new bolts and sometimes new spacers. BTDT. It's a sound design w/o major concerns in a crash. A tip over would not cause damage in 99% of incidents. (there is always one unlucky rider out of 100!)

I didn't build them as crash protection anyway. They are hyway pegs!
If I wanted that I would put bars on it...........

But there are plenty of crash protection that uses the same design on other bikes. ::)

That and if I read right it is only B speed rated tire.

Speed never has been nor ever will be an objective in my riding. This is TBDBITW and I treat her as such.

I spent $179 plus some shipping - under $200 for the tire to be delivered to my door. more expensive than some but not too shabby when compared to some of its competition.

I believe the "B" is for bias ply construction. The load rating is "69" (717 lbs). The speed rating is "T" (118 MPH).

Right
B or R after rim size means Bias or Radial.
Speed rating comes at the end of the string.

Put a new TKC70 on the front. The old one was so cupped that it was giving a bad vibration. I know several here have had this same experience with this tire but I am trying another one since I still have plenty of tread on the rear TKC70. Plus this tire fits my riding style perfectly. (Fast riding in twisties and USFS roads) The front has 4300 miles on it. Too bad it cupped so badly, otherwise the tread was wearing very well.

Wow, I'll prob get 12k out of my stock front, only got 8K out of rear. Was pushing it pretty hard though the Dragon and that area a couples weeks ago.
