As TNTMO mentioned, this is the most basic model that is still in "disguise". All the basic GS come with forged or cast wheels. The spoked wheels are an option on lower models and standard on higher end models. The GSA typically comes out about a year after the basic one hits the showroom. Evidently there are (3) new models on the way. GS 1300 / GS 1300 M / GS 1400.

I like all motorcycles, it's fun to read and catch up with "what's new"..... As with all the new bikes that were just launched last week at EICMA, its a really fun time to read about all the new ADV stuff coming out to market ! BMW did not attend EICMA last week so those enthusiast are waiting for the launch of the new 1300....... (who knows when it will actually)

Way off topic admittedly: For the folks that like to motorcycle camp. Stumbled across this sometime ago. Someone might see something new.........

Area dealer has a few 2023 GSAs in stock, about the same price as the 2022 models. So the 1300/1400 maybe a 2024. And girlfriends are easier to get rid of than bikes! I have a few motorcycles that I just can't bring myself to even think about selling.

I find it hard to believe that Beemer won't make a GS with the R 18.
They are probably looking for a particular power envelope.... The R18 has probably more torque than they want, and wont rev to over 9K like the 1250/1300 for the HP..... Just speculating.

I read that they will run the 23' until May of 23'. Then switch the factory over to the 1300/1400.. This would probably point to late summer early fall 2023 for the new 24' GS....

The 23 are being shipped with not all the correct features available or headlights... I wonder if this will carry on until next May?

(as normal this is "info" read off the Ol' inter web.... take it with a grain of salt)

GS1300... it's about time they put out something to try to be competitive with the SAS. :)

Looks nice in the spy shots. Maybe a bit smaller?

I love that our European friends are always expanding, always improving their offerings.

Bravo to BMW. Keep 'em coming.

Having only just bought mine last year I’ve not intention of selling anytime soon. In fact hopefully quite some years. Owning any new BMW is an absolute no. Way too much tech and too expensive servicing. The only model that does interest is the R9TUrbanGS, but its not really a continental tourer so wouldn’t be a replacement option. I did wonder if a ktm might feature, reliability worries asside my recent experience of dropping my S10 in the Pyranees with minimal damage and my mates 1190 dropped behind me with 3panels damaged, exhaust scraped, and a busted pannier and handguard looks way more expensive to repair. Kinda puts me off. Triumph are focusing on purely chasing bmw on the tech side so they’re a no no too. Have to say the new Honda 750 transalp looks the most likely option in years to come. Think they might have a real winner there, especially as the main demographic of us riders gets too old to handle 250kg bikes.

You get the Electronics because they come with the ECU's its relitively cheap. Its what new buyers believe they need. Until they get a flat.
