Since heard immunity is a numbers game the cold-hearted fastest way to slow this thing is to attack (immunize) the population groups with the highest positivity rates first. Unfortunately, at least in my county and I think most of California, this is the 25-44 and 45-65 year old people that don't seem to be getting very sick. These are the age groups most that are most often defying or ignoring the guidelines, probably explains their high rates. Factoring in the human side, and we just can't stomach vaccinating someone that's going to parties and carrying on being careless, over grandma who could much more likely die of this. Other decisions are driven by well intentioned "equality" concerns over science and cold numbers, at the cost of slowing down attaining heard immunity. It's complicated.

Our Boris is saying the new varient over here is 70% more transmitable and 30% worse. There is the Brazil and South African one aswell. . . .
Dr. Fauci was saying that while the vaccines will still work for the new variations, they may have the effectivity reduced form the mid 90%s to 80%-ish
IF the virus was not designed to mute in the current manner, I believe that the way people are sanitizing are leading to the virus mutations. I've seen dozens of people spray a little disinfectant on a paper towel, and half-ass wipe a surface. I've never found a spray disinfectant that didn't instruct you to saturate, and leave for a minute. I'm amazed at how many guys still don't wash their hands after using a public bathroom. (I don't pee on my hands either, but, if your in public, you've touched fecal matter) I believe the virus mutation(s) reasons are going to be similar to how MRSA developed. Improper use of antibiotics for MRSA, and improper cleaning/sanitizing for covid.

Viral, or bacterial. . . . if you don't kill it, it will mutate over time.

When traveling and I use a public restroom I don't wash my hands. I don't want to touch faucet, soap dispenser and dryer or towel dispenser. I always keep my wanger clean, don't pee on myself and don't touch ANYTHING going in or out of restroom. I do always flush with my foot if required (most are automatic) and always lift toilet seat with my shoe if not at a urinal.

You didn't touch anything in the business where you are using the bathroom?! Most commonly a grocery store. You never touch, or pick up items from the shelf? I don't hardly go into a business just to go pee. By the way, blower dryers were proven to spread germs more than paper towels. Mythbusters did an episode about it.

I would have thought vax for prisoners makes sense. It’s not like they can socially distance. And if the virus gets into a prison it’ll spread like wildfire killing not just murderers but people like us that got caught going over 100 mph

No I do not when traveling. Get gas at the pump and go inside only to pee. Carry food, drinks and snacks with me. When on the bike I will often skip going inside so no need to remove my helmet and gear. Prefer to stop along the road and water the vegetation.

The people I am referring to are in the grocery store, or W-M. They have been, and will be touching everything that I have been, and will be touching. There's just no sense in not washing/sanitizing, correctly, as much as possible these days. I guess y'all can be nasty if ya want. . . . I'll just keep washing your funk off my hands.

Well, I just pay for my gas at the pump, and I very frequently pee on the roadside. We all gotta pee, in fact several times a day.
I'm up here in Canada and it's January, its cold, cold makes one want to pee...
Typically, I go for about a one and half to a two hour walk each morning to get some exercise and fresh air and sometimes graba java...at my age (70) let me tell ya, y'all ain't gonna make er home without a pee.

I've had more than one girl follow me into a men's room. And, then there's the time I ended up in theirs by accident; wondered why there were no urinals in the men's room.
Hmmmm...we all have or will do it sometime...poo and pee, it's all the very same for both boys and girls ya know.

Hopefully they will be tested before they are released. But who knows. My neighbor is a veteran deputy. Gonna ask him.

Cutting loose a super spreader that just came out of a high risk environment. Don't sound like a good idea. He'll probably go back to his homies and make another super spreader hitting on the pipe. But I see your point. Down here in the sticks where I live. They told a friend of mine. They have more vaccine than they can use. Sounds like the expected turn out may have been low. Nurse said some of it was gonna expire. They may as well give the leftovers to the crooks. Sadly prisons are the biggest employers around here.
