A literal Eton Mess?

For those not familiar:
Eton mess is a traditional English dessert consisting of a mixture of strawberries, meringue, and whipped cream.[1] First mentioned in print in 1893, it is commonly believed to originate from Eton College and is served at the annual cricket match against the pupils of Harrow School.[2]

Eton mess was served in the 1930s in the school's "sock shop" (tuck shop), and was originally made with either strawberries or bananas mixed with ice-cream or cream.[3][4] Meringue was a later addition.[5][6] An Eton mess can be made with many other types of summer fruit,[7] but strawberries are regarded as more traditional.

Lancing mess (which uses bananas) is a similar dessert which is served throughout the year at Lancing College in West Sussex, England.

The word mess may refer to the appearance of the dish,[5] or may be used in the sense of "a quantity of food", particularly "a prepared dish of soft food" or "a mixture of ingredients cooked or eaten together".[8]

In recent times, "Eton mess" has often been used by commentators in the media to describe political infighting within the UK Conservative Party over issues such as Brexit. Eton mess is used because a number of Conservative politicians were educated at Eton College.[9][10][11]
I think tossers would be more apt.

Quite frankly our roll out is stupid and makes no sense. Mind you thats to be expected with rhe idiots we have in charge. If it was war time we may as well just surrender.
I’m no lover of this crap UK government but our vaccine roll out is actually much better than anywhere else in Europe. In France only 40% of people are choosing to have it because they have to have a GP countersign. We’ve vaxxed 80% of our over 80s and are on track to finish 55 year olds by June.

NHS workers who are clinically vulnerable got it at the same time

Thing is in any industry or service people naturally form relationships outside of work and in cases live together. Everyone in the NHS should have got it before anybody else.

NHS workers who are not vulnerable are being offered ad hoc places at the end of the day where there is remaining doses available. Obviously they can only go on their days off so they don’t deplete the hospitals etc.

That is good news! Then you can relax a bit

The only trouble is that some cities are saying in effect "not so fast". I think there is supposed to be some kind of announcement for Ventura County today or tomorrow.

Spoke to my doc 2 days ago and he said our State's roll-out is so F-d up he would just like to know when HE can get his own shot, let alone give them to patients.

Last I checked around here, people who have had a positive test get moved to the back of the line. They are supposed to have immunity.

From what I've heard, it an antibodies thing. If you catch the virus, the body makes antibodies to fight the virus. As long as you can survive, the antibodies will hang around for an undetermined time after you recover. The vaccine teaches your body to make antibodies, without actually getting the virus. o_O I'll have to take their word for it. The vaccine fabricated antibodies will hang around for an undetermined time also. But nobody seems to know for how long.

So, are we going to have to do this annually? They say so. Is it going to be a fuster cluck each year? It shouldn't be, the flu shot is easy enough to get. . . . and it changes each year depending on the strains that they think will show up. Guess we'll see.

Its being reported over here that immunity lasts about 5 or 6 months. So herd immunity does not look like happening.
