Not a performance guy, the improved mileage and smoother operation intrigues me. After getting the performance, it could be an added benefit that I didn't know how I did without before. Looking a little into the flashing options, there is a world of web sites and options. Would you share the specifics to the options you chose? Then it is up to me to find a tech in Oklahoma. Finally got my gen 1 tenere flashed today by Nels at 2WheelDynoWorks here in Kirkland WA.
Amazing. I should have done this day 1.

So, you can have nels flash your ecu. Or anthony in nj. He is also excellent at this. You just ship them your ecu.Not a performance guy, the improved mileage and smoother operation intrigues me. Thanks.
Now that I have the main fuse out and am farkling electric parts, it is the perfect time to do this. Thank you.So, you can have nels flash your ecu. Or anthony in nj. He is also excellent at this. You just ship them your ecu.
He had four ecus on his desk all labeled and lined up with shipping boxes to be sent back to owners.
The software is called Flashtune and about $100 of the fee you pay goes to them. They register your ecu and then you get free reflashes for the life of the bike.

As for options: Just tell nels what you want. He will ask you about any mods on your bike since flashtune has maps for everything. Then he can make changes as needed.
I said that i was after smoothness and low rpm fueling improvements. I wanted to kill the snatchy off/on throttle and make T mode not suck ass like it does on the yamaha gen 1 flash.
I got exactly what I wanted. T mode is actually now my favorite since it combines liquid smooth throttle under 3k with the fact that it’s totally unrestricted above 50% throttle everywhere. So i get a throttle that makes low speed maneuvering muuuch better than stock and still get 100% power anytime i want it.
The bike also runs cooler and for some reason sounds better. Way better on deceleration. I think that may be that you can disable the ais via flash on this bike and so it’s probably that the bike is no longer injecting atmospheric air into the exhaust for epa reasons.
Oh and it takes literally 5 minutes to pull the ecu:
Fuck that recall.Gunslinger
I have zoomed in on this picture and I can not see that your bike has had the recall done.
It should have two copper wires sticking out.

I have the same year/color S10 as you and my scoot has none of the symptoms (yet?).Fuck that recall.
I dont trust any dealer here to do that work.
Bike is fine. Ill take my chances.
The throttle has not once acted up on me. If it ever does i will find a dealer i dont hate to do the recall.

When I first inquired about the recall the three Yammy dealers in my area did not
instill much confidence to me in their abilities to perform said recall....
Years ago i was in the market for a 325 (bmw car). I wanted a clean used manual one. The local dealer had a few. I went in in jeans and a hoodie because that’s what i wear.Sounds like the BMW dealership we’ve got over here. Never ever gonna walk in there anymore ( don’t worry, wasn’t there for a beemer. Just checking out gear). sat on a gs in the showroom just to have a feel, they all looking at me like “nope this one can’t afford it”. Didn’t even get a goodmorning in reply!
Same here. In addition, the "real Beemer owners" were looking down there noses at us too. We laughed, and left.Sounds like the BMW dealership we’ve got over here. . . . they all looking at me like “nope this one can’t afford it”. Didn’t even get a goodmorning in reply!

Have a nice weekend.

Based on suggestion from Blackstone Labs it changed the oil after 6,000 miles. Have to confess I also sort of forgot about it. Looked fine.
And to give all the oil Nazis a real cardiac here, I used a cocktail of Yamalube 10W40, Castrol 10W40 and Rotella 15W40 to get some of the old oil out of the house. I bet your heads are exploding right now .

Thankyou very much!
You are wise about that, That recall is very delicate work and easy to mess up. I would not like anyone doing it to my bike eather.I dont trust any dealer here to do that work.
