Took the bike for a service. I wanted to do an oil change and a general look through. I also had a lot of vibration in the front tire that I wanted fixed. I drove off with the chain still attached to the bike. I twisted my wrist and got thrown off the bike when the front tire locked. I broke a small piece from the front fender and bent the front handle bar.

The shop tried to balance the front wheel again but there is a bend in the rim :( Will need a new front wheel. I can live with the slightly bent handlebar but I will need a new front soon if I want the bike to be Vibe free.

On the bright side. I installed another quad Lock mount on the accessory bar. I bought the scooter mount during black Friday and it fits perfectly on the accessory bar. I will use my handlebar Quad lock mount on the other bike.

i don’t remember, but did you put a stiffer rear sprig on? Look like the rear of that plate is getting a nice workout. Normally my bike get the front the most. May just be the nature of the beast. Haven‘t ridden the ten more than gravel roads since I got her

I haven’t put a stiffer spring on. I lik d the ACD skid plate because it covers the catalytic converter. The cat is pretty robust and is about 3/16 steel though.

Gave her a bath before putting her to bed for the winter. The Volvo needed some TLC too. Cold job at 6 degrees Celsius.

Nice S80 V8 AWD!
Did you know that Yamaha designed/built the B8444S V8 engine in your S80 AWD?
I had the same gen S80, a T6 AWD for three years (leased). Definitely was a nice and large, quick sedan....

I had a 740 Turbo that was a really wonderful car. I donated it when it blew the turbo, but i should have just put a new turbo on it and driven it another 120,000miles.

For years my nickname amongst my gearhead friends was “Turbo”, because i drove the slowest turbo charged car known to man

That was a great car. It was absolutely a brick in every way, but it was really fun.

My favorite part was watching people try to figure out the door handles for the first time. My god it was so funny when people would be like “Um...where *is* the door handle here?”

Is it common for turbos to blow at 120K miles or are you getting down on it.

It was an older turbo that had 74,000 miles of use before i got to it. I took care of it and never raced it.

I suspect that for that era, 120,000miles was about right.

It wasnt like the turbo in the wrx i had. That intercooler design is so good it never needed a turbo timer.
