Nice S80 V8 AWD!
Did you know that Yamaha designed/built the B8444S V8 engine in your S80 AWD?
I had the same gen S80, a T6 AWD for three years (leased). Definitely was a nice and large, quick sedan....
You noticed! Happy me!

Yes I do, but not many others do. A V8 is a rare thing in Europa. People are used to them being in Scania trucks and American cars. Not an class European car. When I tell it is a Yamaha they mostly are speechless. V8’s are notorious because of fuel consumption. It’s all right to me but I can see that at €1,66 for a liter of premium it is to steep for most. Filling her up cost’s about €110 and only get’s around 500km if easy on the throttle.
That engine is the main reason I bought the car, I am a big technology enthousiast and can’t stand poor quality stuf (in anything).

I just took that off my bike and put back the old windscreen. The tall is great but it's not as rigid as the standard, and since I'm 5'10", the tall isn't really a requirement for me. I was just messing around with it.
It is not as rigid indeed. I am 1m 85cm, and added the navbar stabalizer from ladlsport.

Stefan.

Hi!
Is it specific for the S10? can you share the PN? Thanks , h
ave a nice weekend!
It Karls design and there is a big thread on it under suspension. It takes a spacer/ adapter to make it fit. This is an 8” spring and is rated at 550lbs per inch. Pn# 800.250.0550
Attached is Karl’s cad drawing. The only change I made was to go to 8mm thickness and not 10mm that elementales any coil bide at max preload and takes 2mm off installed preload. If my math is right this will work good for me at 220 with out geat and 230ish geared up for war

It’s actually sold as a coil over spring for cars at some auto parts mail order suppliers. I got mine at Summit Auto Parts. I used a 10mm spacer per Karl’s original design and was actually wondering if I should have gone with 12mm. Coil spacing is larger on the Eibach spring than the OEM, so binding shouldn’t be an issue with same or less preload distance as OEM.

I am looking for a taller windscreen though I am only 5,8. I am currently using a GIVI clip-on on the stock screen but its horribly scratched. And the added weight makes the windshield shake a lot.
Without the clip-on, the wind hits my helmet and my helmet is horribly loud. I got a Nolan N70 2X hoping it would be quite but even without the peak, its really loud. Earplugs only help so much.
I have the slip screens/wings on order and hope they should reduce the wind blast coming up from my legs.

I have a Givi on mine its about 100 mm taller than stock and wider. I have a flip up spoiler aswell. Works great.

At 5'8'' your stock screen, should be perfectly adequate on the high setting, once you fit the winglets.

Earplugs should cut c.30 dB, if fitted correctly - make sure the ear canal is clear of hairs which can dislodge the plugs as you turn your head.

If you still have a problem with dirty airflow, then experiment with mirror positioning. Then turn your attention to your helmet - you may have a vent that catches/creates turbulence. try shutting everything down, maybe taping up vents to check, whilst leaving the rear/exhaust vents open. You may find a good quality full face helmet far more quiet for road use at higher speeds.

I dont mind looking through the screen when i ride. Mostly i have the big screen for when i have to ride when raining. With the flip up set aswell it goes over my head keeping the visor clearer.

Pararbelum makes a nice shield that gets great reviews. Their short screen is a few inches taller than stock and wider both top and bottom. I think it’s a good looking screen. I have the Yamaha tall version and it works well for me at 5’10”. I have it set on notch up from the lowest position. I also have the factor wind deflectors mounted on the side. I hear that helps but mine came on the bike, so I haven’t ridden with out them
