The front hanger carries all the weight. It just allows lateral movement. This little strap stops that. My pannier mounts never come off. Rivets are easily removed if need be. If we get warmer weather and don’t have to stay at home, maybe I’ll get to try it out.

The "Unboxing" happened...................

I don't know if I'm "Worthy", but I'm certainly not timid................

Today I finally was able to start it up and the ytz14 churned her over just like I rode her yesterday! It’s been 5 long months since last she has been started and with the battery issues I’ve had with my truck and suv I was expecting the worst. Now to do something about the 25’ of 18” deep snow between the bike and freedom!

Well, we are quite a bit south of you.
As we are in southern Canada.
Apparently it was an easy easy winter and we were fortunate enough to return to Canada just before the shit hit the fan.
If we had been marooned in either New Zealand or Australia, we would not complain, now these two beautiful countries are primo riders dreams.

Nice! Just did the same. You made a great choice, love my Bumots. Only company Ive ever called and complimented them on such a great set of instructions. Had everything on in 30 minutes. Every aftermarket part whether mc or auto stuff has always had the worst illegible and unintelligible instructions. Im sure youll dig em!

Fitted these arrow headers to go with the oem muffler. Can’t finish the job due to waiting for a new gasket for the muffler joint. Investigated the recent weird throttle response and found that the heated grip had come unstuck and was twisting round without the throttle!!

Had some free time this evening......

First, this has to come off..........

IMG_5514.JPG

New Top Plate mounted super easy with supplied hardware.

IMG_5515.JPG

There is a surprising amount of storage underneath, in case I want to strap an emergency fuel-bottle or something in there.

IMG_5516.JPG

The side-racks mounted up in about 20-minutes using all new supplied hardware.

IMG_5519.JPG

Boxes mount very solid.
The only thing worth commenting on, is that with the passenger grab-handles in place, there is not a lot of room to get my big hands in there to work the locking mechanism.
I don't see myself taking them off very often if I'm on a trip with them, so it's not a big issue.
The quality of these boxes, and all the brackets and hardware is superb!

IMG_5521.JPG

I measured the widest point on the boxes at exactly 36" wide.
The handlebars measure exactly 38" at the widest point of the hand-guards.

Top-case and Tool-box coming soon......................

Only weird thing with em and I talked to em about it, is they dont offer a carry strap for the top box. Really weird as itd be super easy for em by just shortening the sidebox straps.

Not sure if you got em, but the top lid organizers are the stuff! Super handy and lots of addl storage.

I did get the Lid-organizers for the two side cases. I did not get one for the Top-box.

I found rust on the frame behind the rear brake pedal and brake switch.

So I thought I'd have a look at the swing arm bearings, had a bit of a shock when I pulled the drive shaft. I ran out of time after the strip down, will have a look at the bearings tomorrow and will decide what to do with the drives shaft.

Changed the oil, and rear diff fluid.
Was going to do air filter and plugs along with weatherproofing my coils. But dummy me filled up with gas on the way home last night not thinking about lifting the tank this morning. So guess that will wait till next week or whatever.

Other than the weight, a full tank will not present any problems. The disconnect coupling for the fuel has an auto shutoff.
