Had to go to post office because the crazy postwoman won't put a box in my mailbox.
And she has never driven up my 1/4 mile drive in 8 years. Ole biddy.

Anyways, got the "Extendable" levers from 2Wheels.
Easy install. (clean, grease, and make sure the plunger fits into the slot)

Will start with them at their "stubbiest" length.

Snakebitten, those look REAL nice. I just got the Pazzo's on late last week. I love them! I like that extendable feature, enjoy!

I'm sure all that is true, but I'm also sure that I am not interested. Riding for me is 100% recreation, relaxation, and mental therapy. I do NOT use a bike for transportation. If I'm on a bike I'm in recreation mode, I'm in my happy place.
And that's all good. ::008:: No commuting for me either. But I am comfortable in traffic, it's just not a big deal, but it's also not my preferred environment! For the niche I do, sometimes I have to deal with the traffic, so it's part of my skill set to practice is all.

Glad you enjoy riding and know what makes you happy. That's a very good thing indeed. ::012:: ::012::

I have always been willing to ride. Any weather. Any time. (Doesn't snow in South Texas, of course)

Riding on back roads is fun for the reasons that are obvious.
But even commuting in traffic is something I find enjoyable. The heightened hyper-focus required to stay alive is appealing in its own way.

The only time I don't enjoy being on a bike is STOPPED.

Same way Snakebitten, In fact I have only 30 more days left until I reach 1 year straight riding to work without using the truck, Here in Killeen, we have had some snow, and ice last winter, but no real issues, it has been a hoot, I plan on trying for 2 years in a row in fact!

Parking the truck! That is exactly my strategy. :)

Back in 2006 was the first real spike in diesel prices. Jumped from $1.50 a gallon to $2.25 almost overnight. Heading into work I stopped to fill up the F350 and I hit $100.00 for the first time in my life. I was miffed.

While complaining at the office, a coworker said the exact same thing had happened that morning in his F350. Only HE BLAMED ME! (seems I had ridiculed this Louisiana transplant for driving a RAV4. Shamed him into acting like a Texan if he was gonna live here)

A couple hours later he stated he was "gonna buy a motorcycle". He didn't know, at the time, I had 7 or 8 bikes. I quietly called my nephew, the parts manager at a local Honda-BMW-Kawasaki-KTM dealer and told him what happened. Told him I wanted him to get 2 50 year old Fat-Guy Fuel protest bikes ready. Keep in mind we need to be able to reach the speed limit but keep it simple because the coworker never had a bike.

Hung up. Told the coworker that 2 new bikes were waiting for us if he wasn't just talking crap! Wanna go? He said "right now?"

When we got to Wild West, there were 2 Green KLR's made ready. They added Dune Buggy orange flags to the tail rack for visibility! (we were VERY visible)

Point is, we rode to work for the next 24,000 miles. Both F350's were saved all those miles. And if you did the math, we didn't pay for those KLRs. Exxon Mobil did!

Changed the oil/filter and FD oil and took my first ride since returning from the Whitehorse Rally last month. Easy-peasy 210 loop that included HWY 103 up toward Mt Evans and then the Peak-To-Peak highway and HWY 7 down into Lyons and back home. It felt great to get out on the Tenere again and I was amazed how light it felt after my heavy loading for the trip. Temps were from the 60's to the mid-90's.

Mr. T is in the shop getting his 13,000 km service. And yesterday, thanks to emgee, my Touratech parts arrived and he is sporting a brad new little brake pedal makee bigger thingy. Oh, and today is my birthday. If you haven't sent an expensive gift yet, it's not too late. I'll accept them as long as they're postmarked today. No worries. R ::012:: ::015::
