Don't know for sure. right side failure. Just wasn't getting power. I got the feeling it was that the wires had worn through just from normal usage. We'll see. R

Today I rode 200 miles of West Virginia Twisties , Sweepers, and what I would call dozed trails over mountain passes cause them were not just gravel roads.
We are on a week long trip from Indiana playing in the mountians.
SPKLBUK is showing us some sweet roads.

Beat the living daylights out of it's underwear. Take that MCN. Wear a hotdam skid plate next time ::018::
You're not supposed to aim for the rocks!

Call me, I can hook you up with a bit more protection. You need Rumbux if you're going to hammer those trails.

bummer Rem. Sometimes it's as simple as a bad angle on the wires from the grips. Other times it's a failure at the heating grid. Glad they sorted it for you w/o hassle.

Hi Eric V,
H&B skid did very well considering all the punishment and abuse for the duration of about 5 hours. When I say i like to test stuff I mean I really like to know what a product is capable of. What;s the worst that can happen? If the plate blows up, I'll get another one. If crash bars suck, I'll get different bars. Parts can be replaced...Stuff like that.

My observation, HB should have made the front wall out by a quarter to a half inch more to allow more filter and header clearance, there is room there. Having said that, rumbux setup looks nice, but looking at one particular area of HB skid, I have some nice dings and skid grooves right at the rear of the plate, mounted on the bike it would be just below that exhaust thingie where the 2 headers connect, while HB has that area covered while rumbux is open.
I would be concerned about damaging that area in my opinion. Now, yours may vary and that's okay, but rumbux has everything else covered pretty well, but the skid plate could be extended more toward the rear to cover that up.

Note how far back HB goes

Also, on the side where there is an L shaped bar, that's a big open area asking to be covered up because the header is exposed. So offering more protection is a philosophical issue. ::003::

I see your concern... You need to show a pic from the same vantage point. ;D

I have considered offering a uber heavy duty bash plate for the Rumbux that extends farther back. Not sure how many takers there would be at this point.

Rode it to work (wow I hear everyone say) BUT...

New oil, Suspension settings back where they were supposed to be, Much better.

Geez some people have funny ideas about suspension settings

Forks dropped half an inch. Starting to feel just a bit quicker in the steering.

No oil spewing out so all good.

Cheers
Graham

Learned how to break into the OEM top case after blind faith in the instructions made it impossible to open with the key. I now know this box like back of my hand. ::)

Yesterday afternoon I received the following Krauser (Hepco & Becker) additions:

Bash Plate

Engine protection bars

Water pump protector (which I intend to have anodised black)

Rear Brake slave cylinder protector

Side stand extender (packaged by Wunderlich)

::012:: ::012:: ::012::

This morning a long awaiited parcel arrived from Poland .

Yes, Holan finally delivered a pair of 45l panniers and fixings. ::015::

I have to say on first inspection I am impressed, despite the modest price.

I was just about to start attraching all these goodies to the bike (which is now 4 weeks old !) but a thunderstorm and torrential downpour has stopped play.

My garage is so full of bikes and gear that I need to work on the bike outside, so I now have the time to share my arrivals with you whilst I wait for the rain to stop and the waters to subside !

Happy days

Installed my thetwowheels.com levers, and wired in a Kawasaki Versys switch for hazards and a flash to pass!

Oops. I have the Versys as well and miss the flash to pass on the S10. Thanks for the idea. Where did you get the parts?

Super T! and I rode 180 miles around the Santa Cruz mountains in CA and then stopped by the Hollister (Corbin) Rally to check out what the guys were doing on the other side of the (Harley) tracks. Some impressive bikes out there. Nice day for a ride.

Rode 530 mile round trip to test out my modified seat (posted elsewhere). Gel pad and the Memory foam seem to work. Now the seat is level I can shift position along the seat without being pushed forward. Did not have to pull out the airhawk that I took for backup ;D
Version 2.0 I may change the Gel pad to a slightly larger one and thicker which will cover more of the seat. Will try a denser Memory foam as the one I used compresses maybe too much.

Changed the oil and filter today. Gave the engine its first taste of full synth. 8) Received the DDM T10 running lights with cree LEDs. Not enough time remained to install them after the oil change was completed...had to tend to a barbecue in order to maintain domestic tranquility ;)

Installed Hella Supertones horn - wiring, relay, power from fuzeblock, p-clamps, painted covers black.

They sit on the AltRider bars behind the front forks ... and yes, they clear lock-to-lock - just! 8)
