Took mine up a forest service road that got downright knarly. Got the bike stuck, unstuck it, then came back. Good workout; no need for a trip to gym today. :p Time to start thinking about a bash plate.

Oops. I have the Versys as well and miss the flash to pass on the S10. Thanks for the idea. Where did you get the parts?

Sorry, just saw this now. I found the switch on eBay, and followed the diagrams posted starting in post #79 of this thread http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=2302.75

Installed my the2wheels shorty clutch and brake levers ::008::

Didn't have any of the problems other people mentioned here. They were a perfect fit, delivered in 10 days, look and feel good.

I installed my Happy Trail 9" Tetons (in the higher carrying capacity black) and their mounts. I also put on a TwoBros muffler. I got it at an absolute bargain price, so I thought I'd give it a try. It doesn't seem that loud... yet... I also put on my Bell bicycle bottle holder and did the flat seat mod. These things should've taken about an hour or so to do. I took four! I was having too much fun hugging on, rubbing on and generally admiring the bike. :-*

Tomorrow, I'll install the Madstad bracket and windshield. That'll kill at least two hours... ::)

Oh, I know... ::006:: My camera seems to have expired. :'( I'll get it repaired or replaced soon....

Good to hear - gonna give them a try myself. What color combo did you go with? Pics?

I just fitted my 'the2wheels' brake & clutch lever...regular size, black with titanium adjusters. The clutch boss was to thick to fit in the housing, so I had to file down the raised area around the pivot hole. Took off around .030". The brake side was no problem.

Enjoy it! I just got back!

I installed the Madstad adjusto-bracket thingie and their 20" SD shield. I then put a quick 150-ish miles on it in a big circle. High speed out bound (slab) but, on the way back, I ducked onto the Great River Road (Exit 2 on I-155 west of Dyersburg TN). I split off of it and toured the Chic (chick) Community.

It used to be a town right on the banks of the Mississippi. Unfortunately when they built the big levee a long time ago (Great River Road is on top of the levee.) Chic was in between it and a small levee from the late 1800's. It dwindled and died. There were still a few houses being lived in, a Church, the old Post Office and an old store. All but the Church were closed long ago. Most of the original houses were demolished and turned into farmland. In 2010, there was massive flooding from the river and only four houses remain, along with the Church building which is heavily damaged (south wall is, well, gone) and not likely to be saved.

I also rode through the former Choctaw community. There is only one house left there, a few campers and mobile homes moved onto properties where there were homes and that's all that's left.

The little levee is still there and been "repaired" and I rode the ten or so miles down it which consisted of parts of an 8' wide one lane concrete road, gravel (hard packed to freshly poured and really loose), dirt (with ruts and holes) and sand. I can confirm the Tourances on my S10 do not like loose gravel and sand. The bike handled everything else superbly! I'm liking it, a lot!

I guess I should've posted that in the ride report section.... Call it my detailed road test of the screen and bracket... The bracket is a great addition. I need to give the screen some time. I'm not unhappy with it. I'm just not sure if it's "the one".

More to come! Stay tuned....

Added sheepskin seat cover. This is the Medium size from Alaska Leather

with a nose strap in Charcoal color. The black piece on the passenger seat is leftover from my V-Strom and doesn't fit the rider saddle. I thought I could do with out it, but sitting outside in the desert heat at work all day makes for a real butt burner of a ride home. I sneaked a little foam under it on the forward half of the seat to augment the seat tilt up mod.

Rode about 330km total today. Took in a car show complete with 4x4 demonstrations and bikini clad young thangs! Paired Sena headsets with a riding bud who owns a BMW and enjoyed bike-to-bike jabber on the way home. We had two Harleys, one BMW R1150R and my S10 in our group. The Harley riders needed frequent breaks and fuel stops, so there wasn't much chance of getting fatigued. ;) I was really impressed with the Sena (SMH10) in intercom mode...but this is the first time I've ever used that type of device. The other guys in the group are thinking about ordering them now, so they'll know what we're saying about them ;D

I put wet cloth for one minute before ride. Cheap trick, but wouldn't work with your sheep skin.

I used to just toss a white or light colored towel over the seat. A bungie cord to secure it from blowing away while it sat in the parking lot. Did wonders for a cool seat when I got off work. I stopped riding to work a long time ago through. No fun having the bike crying your name from the parking lot all day, then fighting the highest density of traffic and stupid people on the way to and from work.
