Japko, Your comments above reminded me of this product I came accross. Perhaps it could be a solution if neccessary. http://www.g2ergo.com/
Thanks for the link. I'm not sure that will work on a this system but will ask.

I will also be there tomorrow as well. Hopefully we can meet up. I'll be there early putting on my ALTrider bars and skid plate, just before I take it home.. :))
Talking about the bars, I had to leave right after my ride and spent the rest of the day(6pm) waiting on Fed-ex. arrrrrgh.

The throttle was a snatch fest. I really did not like that part. I rolled on the throttle and it was a lag and then on. Not a good feeling in the city.
Again the Yamaha guys said they did not notice. Before I left, they were adjusting the cables, but I think it was more in the fly by wire.
Hmmm, sounds like an EPA emissions induced leanness problem. First I've heard anybody internationally call the throttle snatchy. The Tiger1050 suffers from this as well. The fix is to get a new tune, or wait for the resistor-based doohickeys to hit the market if you want a plug-n-play solution.

I think that may be the problem. The is another RR just put up and he inferred the same. I'm sure it can be fixed, but it is a little unnerving if you are not used to it. ;)
I'm gonna ask one of the techs about it tomorrow and see what he says..

Yeah, the Euro model I rode in January didn't have that problem. My ST1300's all were a bit snatchy right off of closed throttle and I learned to adapt, but I never noticed it on the S10.

Fred, did you try a fuel program, or know of others that did, to get rid of the problem?

To my knowledge, none of the manufacturers, such as Dynojet Power Commander, etc were able to come up with something that would work on the ST1300 injection system. As I said, it was just a matter of me developing a smooth throttle hand when rolling off of closed throttle and I no longer noticed it, so it wasn't a problem. Now, if I understand you, however, you may have experienced a "dead spot" on first opening the throttle and then a sudden lurch or something like that? If so, that is a different problem. With the ST1300 it was more of a sensation of instant throttle response when coming off of closed throttle, no delay at all.

Yes, it was like a lag coming off closed throttle. I can't even compare it to cables that need to be adjusted, although there was too much slack in the throttle for me. With the throttle setup on this bike I'm not sure of where to look first. But I have a bunch of time to think about it. :D

It's hard to believe an engine with a compression ratio of 11:1 would require 91 octane. O:)

I wonder if you could do a mixture of 87 and 91 like a 50/50

I rode it today and had no problem with the trottle. you want snatchie ride a wr250r

the bad that i found was a lot of heat on my left leg, it was around 85 when i rode.

there was some vibes but not as bad as my klr. I wonder how much the rode played a part in the vibes or unbalanced tires.

the best thing that got my attention was when i got into a heavy cross wind the bike was solid as a rock no leaning into the wind at all.

I should not have rode it as waiting will be a lot harder now, I may have to find the delivery date thread and start bitching myself.

Yes , the bike had Bridgestones one it.

The first time I rode the bike it only had 40 miles on it, and today it had 246. The ride today was much different than yesterday. The vibration was much less and the throttle was not as bad. It still needs work on it, but the Tech agreed it could be smoothed out.

The bike had plenty of power and handled great. In my opinion after yesterdays ride, the bike needs to be ridden to settle it out. After 1 or 2 thousand miles it should be fine.
So that's it, had a big smile today, and can't wait to get it.. ;D

No, but it has multiple seat adjustments, two foot drive, back rest and 5 wheels. I got into a high speed wobble today going to the coffee bar but saved it. :)
