I just came from the dealer in Burleson Tx and the Yamaha truck was there and the new bikes parked outside. They do not have a V-MAX.
Got my first look at the new Tenere. It is a Black, USA model. The guys running the truck said the bike was in production. He also said there were 770 orders to date. Take that for what's worth.
I really don't have much to say that has not already been said.. LOL. I am 6'2" with a 30" inseam and could touch the ground with the balls of my feet on the low seat setting. I'm sure with boots on it will be better. With my feet on the ground, I felt a little tightness in my hips because of the width of the seat. That will change as the seat breaks in, I hope. The bike feels bigger than I thought it would, but not really heavy. The balance feels good.
For me, I will need the mirror off set pieces. I was looking at my shoulders more than the road. All and all, the bike looked well made.
The stickers for the EPA were on the bike, so it must have passed. There were numbers for Cali, Canada, 49 states and 50 states.
One thing I noticed, the sticker on the gas tank was for 91 octane. There are places in the states where 91 is not available.
Last item for today:
If you want to purchase a bike, the dealer will be taking orders on Sat. I was told that was only because of the demo rides.
More tomorrow after I ride it.. ;D
