Awesome! Folks are already on the move. Bikes are already rolling.

My plans change almost hourly. Ranging from a Blitz-run, "Chris-style", straight to Romney & back. Motel based, and lasting no more than a few days.
Or, the other extreme being; hooking up to the trailer "package" with the Best Western On Wheels teardrop and the Tenere strapped on behind. This changes the pace dramatically (and the daily $ burn rate) and allows extended stays on the road.

Both are enjoyable to me.

Looks like the RV-ish method will win out, after looking at the map closely today. I know it's hard for yaw to believe but I have never committed the map of the eastern portion of USA to my memory. Just discovered that West Virginia actually touches Ohio! And also found that Indianapolis is VERY near Cincinnati. Those 2 facts are dominant influences on my current itinerary choices. I can combine my Romney ADVenture with a visit with family (sister) in Cincinnati and then roll that into a visit to my companies location in Indianapolis. Hang out there for a week or so and THAT gives me some strategic cover by transforming this whole jaunt into a business trip. 8)

Yep, the plan is coming together. I'll just have to take the heat from you fellas for making my newly refreshed Tenere into a trailer queen. (I'll deserve it though :) )
But it'll be worth it to enjoy an impromptu 3 week roady.

See you guys in a few days.

No shame in trailering from me. I saw pics of your setup from Arkansas and it looks really sweet. I am trailering mine up there as well. Save me a spot . :) Look forward to seeing you there.

Leaving in the morning for WV..... It's a long haul from southern Ohio to the Eastern Panhandle of WV. ??? The trick is how to get 1,300 miles out of a 300 mile trip. ::001::

Really looking forward to this trip.

The master plan is for everyone to arrive safe.

Well, in all fairness, he made ME wait. For months.
It is purty. Actually, a bit toooo purty. I can NOT let it affect my mental riding. You can't, or should I say, I can't ride with the intent of keeping a bike unscratched.
For me it takes a degree of abandon.

This things needs some war wounds quick. Gratefully the odometer wasn't set back to 000000.0
I can prove it's been ridden. :)

Yaw heard him. He said go crash it. (or something like that)

Ok, here is a pic. The painter called my Happy Trails Panniers "Military Boxes".
And frankly, they kinda are. They are no nonsense functional rugged boxes.

Not very military now though.

The second trick would be to get another 1,300 out of the 300 mile trip home!

Texarkana. Shutting it down at the KOA I think.
Just feet away from Texas border. THAT's progress, if you don't know. :)

SNOW?
What are you guys getting us into here. :D
We had snow and sleet but not enough to stick, temps in low 40s...

For those looking for a full day of easy dirt and twisty paved this Smith Mt rt has it all. The dirt is not as smooth as last year but solid and mostly dry. They've had a rough winter.

That's still just a teaser shot! Kinda like trying to watch the scrambled nudie channel on cable when I was teenager...I can see something, but makes me want to see more!

Hey guys,
Looks like I'm out for the Camp-n-Ride this year. My elderly mother in law passed away this morning.

Hope my riding partners from Kentucky behave themselves without me to ride herd over them. A wild crew so keep an eye on Anthony, Brennan, Tim and Josh. Take lots of pics and I'll be there in spirit. You guys have fun and ride safe, see you next year.
