If you're looking for the Nelson Rigg CL-850s and Amazon's price goes up, just keep checking back. I picked them up for $88 and free shipping a couple of weeks ago, after watching the price jump between $88 and $129 for a few weeks.

Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up G.

The Nelson Rigg 850's are great bags.
I have them on my Vstrom 650 and would like to put them on my new S10.

Does anyone make a luggage guard like Dan Vesel makes for the Vstrom, to go on the right side of the Super Tenere?

I want to avoid the expense of the SW Motech racks when all I need is a luggage guard. I think i may have to try to figure out soething on my own.

Dan Vesel, are you listening? :)

I've put my son's 850s on my Tenere and they fit like they were made for the bike.

As for a right side guard, this one's much more straight forward than even for the WeeStrom. Just cut & a piece of 1" x 1/8" aluminum flat strap from your local Loews or Home Depot and drill two holes. One will pick up the hole that is just below the right passenger footpeg. The rear can mount at the grab handle mounting point. The bends will be very shallow and could be formed by hand if you have no equipment.

Not fancy or costly but you can turn the right hand grab over when using shorter luggage like Cortech and some of the Nelson Rigg.

Well I got the aluminum, cut the hole and bent and works ok.
But the back by the handgrip is a problem. The aluminum is only 1", and the piece going in from the handgrip is wide, about the same diameter.
I cut out a piece of the bar and it sits on top of the back of the grab handle, right in where it goes into the bike.
Going to work on it more tomorrow, but it should work.
I'll post pics if I can figure out how.

Tomatocity, good eye for a simple cure.I installed my hand hold upside down, looks like it will work just fine. This forum amazes me at the simple fixes people come up with.I guess when a lot of the members are seasoned riders most of use have been there - done that. Keep up the good work.

Thanks but I am just the messenger. Don in Lodi is the rider where I saw the mod.

Whoa this thread has been dead for a while - it needs to get rezzed.

I am considering Wolfman Saddle bags for the rides I expect to fall down.

http://www.wolfmanluggage.com/Expedition/expd_dry_saddle_bags.html

I got TraX Alu cases, dropped the bike on the parking lot and quite a few rivets got pressed out - hence not the way to go on trail rides imo... I don;t really want to tip the bike in the sand and find a pannier come loose.

Has anyone combined the SW-Motech rack with the Wolfman bags? How did it turn out? Happy? Any other options that would make sense that have not been mentioned here?

I guess I should have gone with Micatechs or Jesse's in the first place. The Wolfman's seem like a good option to remedy my situation though:

Use the Alu cases on pavement rides, switch over to Wolfman for camping/trail/BDR's. As mentioned above - would love to hear how they fit on theSW-Motech racks! The guy in the posted video claims that if teh rack is less than 9.5' all is good. Well the SW-Motech is exactly that.

I have a question. New to the forum, so be easy on me.
Is there a set of soft saddlebags that has compartment on top? Lets just say a combination of GL Great Basin and Wolfman Teton or E12 Saddlebags that could "double" as a low back support for the rear passenger? Maybe something that the top compartment could unzip and not have to take the saddlebags off when overnighting? Sorry if Im asking too much? I am looking at an S10 where I live, maybe by Christmas. I want my wife to ride with me and thinking more of her sitting in the back. Thanks for the input.
