I ended up with a twisted knee and a bruised foot. I'm certain if I did not have the quality Klim pants and Sidi boots, it may have been a different story.

I have the adventure rain boots and for me not the most comfortable, but at the end of the Colorado trip they saved my ass(foot) in an off road fully loaded crash. As I crashed I felt the weight of the motorcycle and the twisting forces trying to rip my foot off as I went down, and I remember thinking thank god I had good gear on. Especially the boots with thick leather and hard plastic protection. I ended up with a twisted knee and a bruised foot. I'm certain if I did not have the quality Klim pants and Sidi boots, it may have been a different story.

I feel ya brotha ! There where several times im GLAD I had on the full MX boot... I have those Gaerne SG12's... Love those bad boys !

Ouch. Glad you came out relatively undamaged. That had 'Liz Frank injury' (extensive ankle damage) written all over it had you worn lesser protection.

My Formas are on the way; just left Los Angeles ::012:: The touring boots I have now are comfortable, but a joke when it comes to off road riding. I've turned around on many a good trail because I'd rather not take a chance with them.
