I have some like new size 11-11.5 Sidi Discovery's that I'll be putting up for sale here pretty soon.

I've worn them maybe 2-3 times in non-dirt applications.

They are awesome - and I'm a Sidi fan as I wear the On-Roads daily.

If interested, watch for my posting.

A few friends have the Sidi discos and rate them highly. They do squeak when they walk, makes them sound like the tin man.

I have the Alpinestar Scouts. Excellent boots, less money and no squeak...

Gee, my 7 year old Oxtar Infinitys still don't leak or squeek which I paid $250. for back then. Now you have to go to TCX to get them for $350. When I'm in the market again I'll checkout the First Gear Kathmandu for $156. Waterproof too. Or the Alpinestar Scouts for $250. No doubt Sidis are wonderful boots, but over priced.

If you shop around, there are some great deals out there. I picked up these AXO Watertech Q boots a couple years ago for $100 shipped. They're not Sidi's, but they've been really nice boots, comfortable, and waterproof.

15 days later and the boots arrived. They are exactly as advertised and about $110 cheaper than buying in the US if you could find them. Still rolling the dice a little if you have a problem. But if the issue is Gore-Tex related it appears you go straight to Gore-Tex, so the risk seems pretty small. They still have some sizes in stock, so if they have the size that fits you, they are legitimate.

So far the boots do not squeak at all. Although I've only worn them for about 10 minutes walking on the carpet. So won't get too excited about that part. They seem a tiny bit large, but I may just be looking for a problem. They are the same size as my Thor 50/50 boots and at most I may need to add a single insert, but probably not necessary I don't think I could go down a full 1/2 size. One thing is for certain, I'm not sending them back to Germany for a different size.

Overall they feel like a lot more protection than any street boot I've worn. Not as stiff as my MX boots, but sure seems like it would be hard to twist an ankle in these. Looking forward to the end of the 12 to 18" snow prediction for today so I can give them a try and see how the ride.

So far the biggest concern...

..is they have apparently created a demonic possession in my daughter's car.

It's like Pet Cemetery around here.

I'm loving mine. Not very comfortable at first, but breaking nicely. As soon as they start making noise I'll just lube them up. The quality is top notch!

My experiences:

Sidi On Roads - waterproof even in a 10 hr ride in the rain, wet campgrounds and more. Comfortable for over a week at a time when on long trips

Side Adventure Rain - waterproof even in the heaviest interstate rains ever ridden, broke in fairly quickly but not as fast as the On Roads. Super comfortable for super long road trips nearly two weeks long. These are my favorite boots to wear.

If you are trying to justify the price, figure out what foot insurance is worth and figure it over a 5-10 year period. Chances are they will last even longer than that with re-soling. Overall cost is cheap when you look at it this way.

Got a pair of Sidi Adventure Gore Tex about a week ago. I'v ridden in them everyday since and it has rained all bar today. No long extended rides in the rain yet, just a half hour or so but the kept my feet perfectly dry so far. I know not a real good test.

On the fit I think they a bit on the narrow side. I have gone from a pair of Oxtar Infinitiys and in the same size and the Oxtars are definitely a bit wider. The Sidis are leather (like the infinitys) so I expect they'll stretch a bit with use. So far really happy with them. Oh the right one has just started to squeak.

First ride. Nice feeling boot. There is a little shin splint on the right, which reminds me of my skiing days. My former skiing days also remind me that shin splints go away after a while, so no real concern. I was a little surprised to find no need to adjust the shifter on either my pivot peg equipped bike, or my wife's stock peg bike. Due to the enhanced protection there is less feel for shifting and braking. I found I was challenged a little getting re-adjusted to the rear brake. Kept mashing it too hard. I'll get the hang of it soon enough.

The sole of these really plant themselves on the pegs much more firmly than my old AlpineStar Ridge or Thor 50/50. Not as easy to move the feet around for shifting or braking. Ultimately that's a good thing, but something I need to recalibrate in my brain.

Decided to rise a few weeks worth of mud off both bikes. It was too tempting not to spray the boot. Soaked the toe portion, and as expected...nothing. Well, nothing except the now are squeaking a little. That didn't take too long.

For such a monster looking boot, they are remarkably comfortable. Still need a little breaking-in, but not a lot. So far I have to say I'm pretty pleased with them.

It's official. The Alpinestars Ridge boots have been retired. They have been donated to the trash man. They have seen better days.

Safe to say I use the hell out of my gear. These had more holes in them than I realized. Long live the Sidi Adventure Gore-Tex.

Have not had them in rain yet, but had a chance to walk around in water up to 6 inches deep. Stayed completely dry at first. After a while I thought I felt like the bottom of my feet were wet. I stopped, took off each boot and my socks were completely dry. I guess it was the temperature change in the boot that gave the illusion of being wet. About 10 minutes later I still thought my feet were wet. Stopped one more time and took off each boot. Again completely dry. I think I'm going to like this Gore-Tex stuff.

Tire rinse and boot check

I have the Adventure Gor-Tex and love them, great boot. I wear them everyday and have zero complaints about them, as othere have stated they do start to squeak after 6-7 days of use. All I do is spray a little Yamalube Silicone spray in all the contact/flex joints and there stealth quite again for the next week--Not a big issue or hassle in my book for such a great boot.

I have had a pair for about 2 years. I like them but my right boot leaked on a long ride in the rain....4 hours or so....had to have come in from the bottom somewhere as I had on my Aerostich Roadcrafter which covers the top 3/4 of the boot.

I got a pair of the Sidi Adventure, comfy from the word go.

Rode through a storm, heavy driving rain, the other day, it was that wet that my goretex lined pants leaked (first time) but the boots stayed dry. I was riding for 2 1/2 hours before I stopped only to change gloves.

Great boots.

Thanks for the info.

I placed my order a couple of days ago. My Kushitani touring boots are worn out and I needed something with more protection for off road. Your comment regarding comfort convinced me to investigate further. I order them in black, but now I wish I would have chosen brown. Oh well, no big deal.

I have the adventure rain boots and for me not the most comfortable, but at the end of the Colorado trip they saved my ass(foot) in an off road fully loaded crash. As I crashed I felt the weight of the motorcycle and the twisting forces trying to rip my foot off as I went down, and I remember thinking thank god I had good gear on. Especially the boots with thick leather and hard plastic protection. I ended up with a twisted knee and a bruised foot. I'm certain if I did not have the quality Klim pants and Sidi boots, it may have been a different story.
