Hi Andrew,

I don't know that - yet. You guys will be my first Tenere customers and I'm counting on you to help me with feedback and photos.

Stay tuned -

Best Regards, Gordon/RTS

To just be ready.

Will there be a final torque spec for all the fasteners in the system?

(the service manual on the 2014 ES seems to be very specific with gaps, torque and method for the top bar clamp.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND WISHING YOU AND YOURS A HAPPY NEW YEAR

Harry, Yes - I'm going to include detailed instructions and illustrations. There is a sequence that needs to be followed and the steps will be numbered 1 through 6.

Here is hoping all of you have a wonderful Christmas Holiday!

Best Regards, Gordon/RTS

Fellas, I need some help with the Gen 2 -

The microfiche shows small, 6mm threaded holes on what Yamaha calls "Holders". As you see in the drawing, there are bosses on each Holder both facing to the inside. These are not on my friend's 2014 Super Tenere and I've combed over the electronics pages to find something that would bolt there and I can't ID what it is. I have also checked the 2014, 2015, and 2016 model fiche files and all have the same part's listed. Perhaps the microfiche image is an early edition that may have had an ignition switch located here instead of built-into the upper triple clamp? It wouldn't be the first time a microfiche had some mistakes.

I'm confused and need help getting this figured out. Thanks, Gordon/RTS

Ok, I think we've solved this issue. This is likely one of those early factory drawings where the original intent was and even perhaps some limited models did have the ignition switch bolted onto those handlebar holders shown. I've seen it before where the fiche has variations not in production models. Honda is pretty famous for this. I restored a Black Bomber several years ago and was amazed at the dozens of changes and differences in Fiche and actual models. A study of the 1972 Kawasaki H1 MACH III (Orange 500 triple 2 stroke) model would reveal what is probably the worst and most mixed-up parts model I have ever seen in my history. There was no consistency because the factory was ordered to consume parts from the left-over 1971's and the new 1973's coming in the months ahead. While all 1972 500 MACH III's, some had Drum fronts, some Disc, some with distributor 50,000 volt HEI ignition, some with CDI, some painted fenders, some chrome - restoring one can be very interesting..

Anyway, those bosses will not be on your RRR Adjustable Handlebar Riser Systems either!

Thanks again for your inputs. Gordon/RTS

Interesting note Gordon. Good to know for future reference.

I do not have that on my 14es.

Hi Guys,

It's time for an update - I finally got the Yamaha factory parts in today for both the Gen 1 and Gen 2 models. There was a back-order on one of the Gen 2 uprights/handlebar holder).

These will go into the machine shop this coming week and we'll get started with the CAD work. I'll keep you guys posted.

Best Regards, Gordon/RTS

Hi Guys, the Risers are being machined. As you saw in the post above, we now have the factory parts needed for both Gen 1 and Gen 2 models along with the Fatbar handlebar for proper sizing.

I will be announcing something very big this coming weekend. It's something that I've been working on for a while now and it's finally close to Launch. I mention this because it may change your mind about the Dash System and layout that is optional with your new Riser Systems. You guys will be the first to get the Risers- I promise. Your Risers are # 1 on the list. I think you are going to love what I have coming out. A Special Article will be posted to our Articles Library, a special Video, Photos, and a Newsletter will go out later this week to tell you about it.

By the way, have you guys checked out the growing library of articles that I've written and posted up for your reference and entertainment? I've posted articles on 10 of the 50+ restorations that I've done and I've got another 12 or 13 articles on facts and history that you may find interesting. As always, give me your feedback. I can only improve if I know what you do or don't like. Those are also free, so have a look.

I really appreciate all the support you guys have shown me. The Super Tenere is an awesome bike, but the Owners are even better!

Thanks, Gordon/RTS

I didn't know you had these on your site. They're very cool but that sort of info isn't the type of thing I think a tools-sales site has. I'll be sure to share that link with people who might be interested.

The machine work and indeed the idea of this handlebar riser is first cabin.

I remembered a web site that may make the application more meaningful. The web site is cycle-ergos. When you access the site it will ask to add a bike, the add block is to the left of the screen. Click on the add then select the motorcycle of choice, at this time The super tenere model is based on a 2012 model.

The simulator will allow for seat height change, handlebar reach and height.

I hope this will help.

Good Luck
