Sorry guys, but the journalists are not wrong about this. They are experts at what they do, just as we are experts at what we do. Fans are exactly what the word means, "fanatics" and find it difficult to be impartial. https://motomatters.com/analysis/2015/10/27/2015_sepang_motogp_round_up_heroes_who_h.html

Some things folk will not agree on, but there are some obvious facts...

Lets not forget Marquez did catch and pass Lorenzo in Australia, if he really was hell bent on ruining Rossi's chances (at that time) he could have just come in second, he put it all on the line for that win.

Rossi gobbed off about Marquez earlier in the week, I think most of us would agree this was just stupid and / or childish, certainly was not going to do anything positive for himself with these comments.

Marquez was riding extremely aggressively (even by his own standards) and at such an early stage of the race, if he just wanted the best result he could have trailed Rossi to see if he would pull him back towards the front.

Rossi did not just run Marquez a little wide (as people often do as a tactic - and perfectly OK as bike in front has right of way under "normal" circumstances) he slowed down, turned around to "confront" Marquez.

From here I think everything is open to speculation and interpretation - and conspiracy theories.

I think Rossi was convinced Marquez was trying to slow him down (and it sometimes looks like this - and I have no way of being sure) and I think this is why Rossi was desperate to get back in front right away and to stop Marquez "slowing him down", also Marquez harsh (but probably fair) passes were putting a much increased risk on Rossi being taken out by Marquez or crashing trying to get back past him on each place swap. I do think Marquez was being an A-Hole (Most likely due to Rossi pissing him off earlier in the week)

I think the frustration got the better of Rossi and he "lost it", I am sure in the cold light of the following day he will regret not having just calmed down and ran a normal race. I do not think he was trying to knock Marquez off, but just venting anger and trying to get ahead and stay ahead (although I could not see this tactic was ever going to work)

I am sure we all wanted a last race fight for the title, but a penalty had to be given - and I think it has to be said Rossi has done as much to ruin this last race shootout as Marquez and Dorna.

I think Lorenzo lacks character, and although I am not a huge fan, I did not dislike him at all, but he also blotted his copybook with his protesting about how big a punishment Rossi should get.

Marquez is another great talent, and fantastic to watch, not my favourite rider and prone to being a bit dangerous IMO, he is also very young and therefore maybe acting his age to a degree (not a great excuse for a professional sportsman, but Rossi should certainly know better)

I agree with BB - Lorenzo is fastest, but he is also second in the title hunt....

...I am (like many here) old enough to remember when Christian Sarron was the fastest 500 rider, back in the days of Lawson (4 world titles) Rainey (3 world titles) Spencer (3 World Titles) Schwantz (1 World Title) and Gardner (1 World Title) Sarron never won a world title, but many of these rather gifted peers of his used to admit he was the fastest guy out there.

In my opinion the fastest and best rider are not necessarily one and the same - otherwise Sarron and Capirossi would have both won titles in the top class.

Regardless of who wins in the end both Lorenzo and Rossi have put in enough graft to deserve the title, just wish this was not going to hang over the end result.

Rossi has a great personality, however that does not excuse intentionally running someone off the track. I share big Blue sentiments on this one, mark it in e calendar cause it wnt happen again. :p

I seem to recall a similar view regarding Schumakers antics a few years ago :D

If I'm not mistaken, didn't I see Lewis Hamilton run Nico Rosberg wide at turn1 at Austin, right at the start of the GP last weekend, on his way to the F1 Title. Nico wisely took avoiding action, but lost a couple of places as a result. I think they brushed tyres, but otherwise it was deemed a racing incident with the lead car being allowed to decide the racing line.

If we take this logic & apply it to the Sepang incident, one would have to ask quite why young MM decided to continue to turn in on VR, when it was pretty obvious that VR intended to run him wide. Gamesmanship from both riders in my view, in the heat of the moment - & it worked a treat on this occasion for MM, but not for VR. We see this all the time in Moto 2 & 3 incidentally, without any over-reaction.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not seeking to be partisan here as I prefer to be watching good clean racing, whilst admiring the skills of the protagonists. Unfortunately the scene was set in Australia the previous weekend, when VR would have been better served by keeping his own council. The Honda Team must surely have admonished MM for his tactics - why mix it with Rossi in the pack when you can get out front & win the race easily - but we all enjoyed the spectacle. Just a shame Sepang turned sour. The Stewards were harsh, but wanted to send out a clear message & then went into a rather hurried appeal process, when I think they would have been wise to let a few days pass for all the evidence to maturate. Here in the UK we had to endure Messrs Heuwen & Ryder on BT Sport (Pay Channel) pretty much making the Stewards decision for them, within seconds of the incident occuring - their commentary became so very annoying, we had to use the mute button, so we could actually watch the race unfold without their over-excited babble ruining the event. Incidentally, these guys are irritating most of the time, but since the BBC dropped MotoGP, our choices are limited to paying for the BT or Dorna feed live, or taking the free ITV4 repeat next day.

Still, with VR going to arbitration next week, it will be interesting to see the result. Conspiracy theories aside, & there are many, I would like to see a good clean race for the championship at Cheste, so my hope is that the VR penalty is overturned, or at least reduced significantly - maybe a 5 place grid penalty at most. However, as I understand it, arbitration is a high stakes game, where just about anything can happen.

It's good to see you're getting a bit wiser as time passes.... calendar marked! :D ::26::

The final race next week should be very interesting, I'll be watching. Few will be watching Lorenzo take the title, most eyes will be on VR and MM.

HRC say's they have data from the bike that provides proof VR kicked the brake lever, causing the front wheel to lock and the crash, they will make that data available to anyone interested: http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-racing-news-moto-gp/hrc-boss-declares-data-proves-rossi-kicked-marquez/28393.html

Yamaha say's it didn't happen and they don't want to talk about it anymore... hmmmm, they don't seem interested in examining the data. Sometimes facts sux!: http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-racing-news-moto-gp/yamaha-issue-statement-following-hrcs-accusations/28394.html

Slo-mo from the helicopter and the guard in front of the brake lever has rendered the "kick" argument invalid. More excuses from Honda intended to distract from Marc's poor behaviour at Sepang. Sure, Rossi ran him wide but MM continued to turn into a machine that was clearly ahead of him.

Then VR's team should review and refute the evidence MM's team claim they have.... No?

As for the guard, it doesn't cover the entire lever, just the very outside end. I believe it is possible to kick the lever. I wouldn't do it, but I wouldn't put it past VR.... he's been acting like a spoiled child of late.

As I read this it say's VR should STFU, swallow his medicine, and ride on: http://www.motorcyclenews.com/sport/motogp/2015/october/fim-president-sepang-has-poisoned-the-atmosphere-of-our-sport/

Watch the video... VR's leg goes FORWARD as a result of being hit from BEHIND.

Race direction has heard all the protesting from both sides and have made their decision. Time to move on. One more race and the season is over regardless of what went down in Malaysia.

::026:: Rossi's leg clearly was going forward AND it's after Marquez turned into a bike ahead of his own.
It wouldn't be surprising to see the brake come on as Marquez was going FORWARD, which means his own contact with Rossi is what put the brake on. I'm shocked with what Honda is trying to allege.

Just like teaching kids soccer or any sport, the ref called what he (they in this case) saw, them's the rules, and the score is in the books.

Tell that to Duke after the Miami, multiple-lateral, no flag thrown debacle!

Yup, what we teach our kids isn't always what us adults practice.

I say 'Shame on Honda' - I understand their desire to support their riders, but this rather vaguely worded claim by the HRC boss is such patent bullshit, it is embarrassing. The overhead shots bear witness. The Yamaha response seems about right - it is nigh on impossible to kick the front brake lever any more, but the brake could have been applied when the right hand bar hit the deck, if not before, by accident, as MM was bailing out.

Sorry to say BaldKnob, this dispute won't go away, until the CAS deliver their verdict, supposedly by Friday 6 November. Meantime the Stewards/FIM decision is set aside & VR arrives at Cheste with one penalty point & the title lead. Incidentally, the CAS have denied JL's application for a persoanl hearing over this matter - quite right too; he is an interested party who could only muddy the waters further.

Now I gather some Italian satirical TV programme have been doorstepping MM, in an attempt to present him with a faux trophy, presumably for helping out his compadre JL. Result - fisticuffs, broken cameras &, to my amazement, MM joining in the affray with his relatives - why? why provide fodder for the press like this, just rise above it & ignore them. MM is now threatening legal action. He needs to step back & engage brain - does he really need attention like this - he will need an injuction to keep the coachloads of the Italian press away, both from the court & his home if this proceeds.

Personally, I just want to see a good clean race for the title, without any of this nonsense spoiling my viewing pleasure - some hope!
