With four or five other Tenere riders saying they want to ride out to the Utah rally with Michelle and I , It looks like we need some kind of plan.
So here is what I’ve come up with.
We will be meeting up at the Des Moines Quick Trip NE. 14th St. and I80 Saturday Morning Sept. 17th.
We will be leaving right at 7:00 AM. So if you need coffee, fuel or food be there and ready to pull out at 7:00.
We will stay on I80 west for a couple hours just to get some miles racked up early. On the west side of Lincoln we will drop down to highway 6 west to highway 34 and stay on 34.
We should be able to make it over to Fort Morgan, Colorado to camp free in their city park that night.
These link doesn't work right unless you copy and paste it into your browser.

Sunday we will stay on highway 34 west into Rocky Mountain National Park. We will ride the old Fall River Road to the top.

Work our way down to I70 [no direct plan here] and west to Moab, Utah.
At Moab I would like to take Michelle up Onion Creek to see that area, then into Canyon Lands to ride out to Grand View Overlook and then down the Shafer Switchbacks and back into Moab on Shafer Road and Potash Road. [This might be on the ruff side for some riders with street tires]
Then south to Goosenecks State Park, Valley of God, and Muley Point, I’m hoping it works out to camp out on Muley Point that night.
Then Monday we head west on highway 95 and work our way over to Burr Trail road. I would like to ride the Wolverine Loop trail [more ruff stuff, good off road tires may be needed] off of the Burr trail and some other good side trails. [everything will depend on the weather]
There is a good looking side trip on Poison Spring road to the Dirty Devil river that might be fun.
Cottonwood Canyon Road south of Cannonville looks good.
Anyway end up at the rally campground Tuesday afternoon.
If anyone from out east or the Midwest wants to join up with us feel free.
This is not an organized ride with a leader. I'm just telling you what Michelle and I are planning to do and if you like what you read and want to ride along, good.
We do camp and hopefully in some remote places.
You'll need food and drinks for evening and morning. There won't be many or any restaurant stops along the way.
We may ride hard but not much speeding [I hope] We don't Lollygag at gas stations. When there is good stuff to see we take our time and pictures.
I would like to propose that everyone meet at Rays restaurant at 6:00 PM Tuesday for supper and so we can all get to know each other and plan for rides.
Hope to see you at the Rally.
