*****UPDATE JUNE 21, 2016*****
I got a call from the Zion Ponderosa Resort and they had informed me that another group was wanting to come camp at this resort the same weekend. They were wanting to make sure this was still a go. I told them it was. She asked that people start calling in and reserving a spot and putting down a deposit. She said it would be refundable up to a certain point if you had to cancel. I believe its still the same price of $11 per night. She also wanted to know if people plan on using their restaurant... So if you are planning on going please call the resort and tell them its for the Tenere Rally and get your deposit in so she doesn't give this spot to someone else. That would be a total disaster..

There is no charge for the rally just for the individual nights of camping. Does that make sense or answer your question. I think what they are wanting is just a commitment that the spot will be used so they want people to make a reservation.

I had been in touch with them recently to ensure we had a spot in the group area. So I may be the group they are talking about. They didn't ask for any money up front but $12 per night per camper when we arrive.I sent you a pm a while back but probably you didn't get a notification. They have my contact info confirming the group tent space for the super Tenere group still.

This will be as epic and bucket-listy a trip as I've ever taken - I am SOOOOoo grateful to have a landing pad out there where there will be people with S10's who know the lay of the land.

Is there a thread anywhere to introduce east coast noobs to riding big, arid, places?

[/size]Do I need to carry gas? Do I need a plan for rain, mosquitoes, or cougars? Does the BLM have black helicopters that shoot at lost goofballs from the east coast?

My wife and I have a cowboy cabin reserved...but no S10. Long story short, I have a new, still tagged Touratech 31 L dry bag duffle I want to donate for a random drawing at the rally. I paid ~$100. Tried to sell, but no one biting, then thought hit me to donate it to rally. This forum helped me a ton, so here's a little token of thanks.

Okay. I read a few pages and see there is still interest in the rally. I live in Vegas and spend time in the Zion/Duck Creek area. If there's Anything I can do to help, let me know. Some great rides in the area. I can solicite TwoLukes to be more involved he is highly organized and is great at planning events. He has a great knowledge of the area as well. Let's not let this one die.

Good news should end up being a reasonable turnout. About 5 or 6 of us from British Columbia planning to be there.

I've had an inquiry from Butler maps wanting to make a donation of a few of the back country discovery maps for the Rally. He's looking for a contact person to get the maps to. Not sure if you guys are interested in some giveaways for a drawing or something but if you are I'll need a contact for this. Any volunteers?

The wife and I were looking forward to the Utah rally but I have to back out. Messed up my ankle doing the Continental Divide made it just over half way when I had a first gear fall in Wyoming. It's amazing the damage I did going so slow. 2 broken ribs, broken fibula and the ankle is a mess.

Limey, I just saw the info on page 13.... :). So sorry to hear you're busted up. God speed your healing and it will be our loss if you're not there....:-(

Darth Raven, I am alive and kicking. Call me and let's start coordinating the rally. Number is the same, (702) 682-LUKE (5853)

You know, I don't see my old friend Snakebitten on the list, unless my eyes are failing me. Wouldn't be a rally without him !!!! Then him AND Limey missing. . . WOW!
