Gunner: here is a quick map of loop to Toroweap Overlook https://goo.gl/maps/tDyTHsgqFs82 . Nine hours of riding time. Could make it shorter https://goo.gl/maps/VCiQSp5m7kE2 but that would be missing the switch backs and tunnels.

Was plunking around and found these roads connected https://goo.gl/maps/nt32KraWeXn
-Left Side: Upper Basin Rd is dirt, a bit steep for awhile, looks to be loose in one section, and was driven by a GoggleMaps vehicle.
-Right Side: mostly asphalt with some well manicured dirt, and was driven by a GoogleMaps vehicle.
-Could be ridden up the right side and back UT-14 https://goo.gl/maps/qytmL92Avxj
-Ride both sides and get to ride the switch backs and tunnels both was.

I have never been on or have ridden these roads. I am not very good off road but might try this route.

I'm still in, and think the t-shirts are a great idea. ::012::

I'm also good with just burgers and dogs with a few adult beverages around a campfire.
I've been in the area before, and know many of the paved roads, but am unfamiliar with any of the fire roads, etc...

I am going with Steve Reno and maybe 3-5 other Iowans and Illinois folks. Or by myself if needed.
I might be into it Bob..

We just need the venue and places to ride followed by a place to prepare some burgers and chill some beer

And a place to stay/camp for the ones that do not already have a cabin/camp site.

I've been planning to ship the 690 till recently thinking about just towing the camper with the Tenere.

Today I was told I may be in Cedar Rapids that week for work, so I'm not sure what I'll be doing at this point.

I contacted the resort recently to see what is needed for those planning to camp in the group site. No reservation is in place at the moment for the group camping site. I don't mind making the arrangement for this if those that are planning to camp can indicate in this thread so we can have an idea of the numbers involved. Looks like group campers have access to the showers washrooms pool etc. There is a restaurant on site that does a breakfast buffet.

Doug,

I'm coming and will be camping, but have not called to make a reservation.

Camping would be good but would like to get a cabin to be able to secure the gear (mainly side cases dry bags) not being used and a dry spot if the weather changes.
