If you want to and it works out you can hock up with us out or back. At least on the way out we won't be on any interstates just back highways. Sometimes on the way home Michelle starts getting in a hurry to see the Grand Girls and wants me to hit interstates or whatever will get her home fastest. I haven't planned out a rout much yet but I would like to go through Moab one way or the other and show Michelle some of the White Rim Trail and the Canyon Lands overlook.
That would be awesome Steve. I have a few big rides planed this year, New Zealand this Thursday for 6 weeks, 3 weeks on a 660 tenere and 3 weeks with the wife in a camper van. And she wants to ride up to Alaska in July So hopefully I can make the Utah rally.

Hi Steve
I was wondering if you were going two up glad to see you are. Maybe Sharon and I can catch up to you two on the way out. Its gonna be a busy summer retiring selling our house and moving up to the cabin. Then fishing riding repeat. I am done in April Sharon in Sept. Looking forward to this get together and spending some more time in Utah.

Retiring ? You lucky ones!
It would be great to ride out with you two.
Our dates are set though because Michelle put in for her time off already.
We leave on Saturday the 17th and she has to be back to work the 27th. That is like three days to get there and three days to get home. And Four days out there at the rally.

I may ship the bike ahead and fly into Vegas, but if trailering from DC there should be space for company. Won't know for a couple of months.

Don't want to alarm everyone but I am looking at the possibility of having someone else take this Rally over. I have a conflict with the dates of the Rally right now. My parents this past week booked a cruise for them and their kids and spouses for the same week. My Parents are 76 now so not sure this opportunity will ever present itself again so really hate to miss it. They knew about the Rally but when they sat down with everyone that's the week the rest of my family could make it work and when they got the best deal. I thought about moving the dates but know some people have possibly made plans with work etc to attend and I hate to mess them up over me not being able to attend. What I'd really like is someone to be willing to step up and just take it over. There is no up front Money needed as the Zion Ponderosa campground does not require a deposit or anything. So it would basically be just showing up and running the show. Anyone willing to make this on please PM me. There is a lot of interest so I hate to just up and cancel it because of 1 person not going. Thoughts? Opinions on how to handle this?

It's not looking promising at this point. I figured I'd give it 2 weeks then I'll have to cancel. Hate to do it but I'd hate even worse to kiss this trip.

Put me down as a definite maybe. I will be able to firm that up in a couple of weeks. Love that part of the world!

David

I understand the situation. Family has to come first. I will stand by and wait to see if this gets taken on by someone. This would be my first rally, so it would be great if it happens. If not, then perhaps next year. Cheers, David

OK, I was really looking forward to this one. How about moving the dates??? It's still several months out and I would think the majority could make it work.

If I could think of a better time that would work for me is change the dates. To much going on this year. Might just have to happen next year. There is a dual sport Rally called the "Flying Monkey Rally" that they do at basically the same place. If I end up not being able to ha e someone take this one over you could always do that Rally.

Well that sucks considering I have already paid most of my accommodations.
Yes. This is why I hope someone will be willing to take it over. There is really no ground work to be done. All you have to do is show up and lead some rides. They are all available on GPS Tracks so shouldn't be a big deal. But nobody seems to want to take it on.

However if nobody takes it over you should have no obligations this far in advance if you cancel soon.

Why can't we all just show up and have our rally.
Who needs a tour guide, I for one don't follow "tracks" I make my own tracks.
I'll be there even if I'm the only one.

That's the spirit right there. I don't need to be there for tea rally to still exist. All I was doing was working on getting a few Door Prizes for y'all.
