Until today’s ride I had never seen a Tenere, other than mine, outside of a showroom. Today while on the Cherohala Skyway we were pulled off at the Big Junction overlook near the TENN/NC border and they were headed toward Tellico Plains, three bikes and two were Tenere’s. I’m curious if they might see this post and identify themselves?

On with a few photos… It really was a great ride today. The three of us meet ON TIME at the QT and downed a cup of coffee and were on the road headed north by 6:30. The weather for today was a mix of most for this time of year, sun, clouds and a little rain sprinkles for a few minutes with the temps being in the mid 80’s until above the 5000 foot elevation where it cooled down nicely.

Coffee at the QT

Headed up I575

First stop is Buck Bald. The forest service road from the south headed up to the summit at Buck Bald. From the south this is about 5 miles.

A few photos at the top of Buck Bald.

The road headed down the north side is about 2.5 miles long to get back out to Hwy 68. There are a few places that you really don’t want to get off the road. You have to look close but you can see a bike on the lower road in the next photo.

Headed from Buck Bald on into Tellico Plains.

When we got into Tellico Plains we stopped at the Tellico Grains Bakery for a quick breakfast. Man, they have the best food. Let me recommend their Ham and Cheese Croissants! After our stop at the bakery we headed across the street to Tellico Outfitters. For those that have visited this place they know how great Mike is and his prices are the best and if he doesn’t have it he will get it for you. He also spends a lot of time keeping the trails cleared in the Tellico area. His place is a must stop any time you get close to Tellico Plains.

From Tellico Plains we headed east out the Skyway to River road and headed up to Bald River Falls.

Then back down River Road to the Skyway.

Eastbound on the Skyway.

And made it to Big Junction overlook, the only place we stopped on the Skyway due to the threat of moister falling from the sky.

Just a great ride today and the next photo made it especially enjoyable for me.

Yes Jack, it was a great ride and the Skyway happens to be my favorite road right behind the Blue Ridge Parkway and is close enough for a nice day ride. I also love the Tellico Plains area and all the roads that need exploring around there. I'll give a yell (well, maybe a post) the next day I have free and the weather cooperates.

Really COOL photos Joe-JOE !!!

I can’t imagine moving away from all this after being here most of my life. Maybe you’ll get back one of these days.

I miss Mark and Renee being at the Cherohala Motorcycle Resort full time now. I got to know them and consider them friends and I don’t get to see them when I’m in the area now. They really were great host for your KLR rally’s.

I’m doing a “mini” ride Sunday morning to Riders Hill for coffee. I hate it but that’s all I have time for this weekend and the weather forecast is great for this time of year. Sometimes I just hate being responsible. . ???.

I don’t have a plan other than to be at Riders Hill at 9:00am, or shortly thereafter, Sunday morning and have coffee and chew the rag for a while and then head back so I can be back by noon’ish for other obligations.

I would love to see other local S10 riders at Riders Hill if you get a chance to stop by. . ::001::.

The girlfriend and I will be up in the hills Sunday and will likely be by Riders Hill at some point in the morning. I don't have any idea when, we haven't even decided on a route or destination, just going to ride. Hopefully we will be by Riders Hill before you leave to head back to responsible land :)

North Georgia Meet and Ride…

Had a great ride today but never made it over to Riders Hill. We stayed over on the east side. Wound up in Highlands for lunch. It was a beautiful day today!

Yes, it was a great day to ride even if I only got a half a day on two wheels it was still great. I don’t blame you at all for staying on the east side especially for lunch in Highlands. Great places to eat there! We’ll meet up one of these days I’m sure.

I left home around day break and did some back roads headed north. Ended up near Talking Rock and took 136 over Burnt Mountain and 52 by Amicalola Falls and made it to Riders Hill just after it opened. I’m always ready for coffee when I get there.

I sat and jawed with a couple of the regulars for a while. Then a couple of guys I ride with on occasion showed up and I let them take the S10 for a quick ride, they both enjoyed it. Also, Riders Hill just received two new 2012 Stelvio’s so I drooled over them for a few minutes. I’m not sure what it is? Maybe the goofy bug eye headlights, but I just love that bike.

Hey ogre, one of these days we’ll catch up with each other! I still haven’t seen another S10 at Riders Hill.

The following are a few phone photos at Riders Hill today;

I understand Riders Hill will be a Motus dealer and should have bikes by late Sept or early Oct.
On my return trip from Barber Vintage Weekend I'll swing by ...... maybe get a Motus test ride.

Maybe one of you locals can show me the way to some nice forest service roads??? ;D

Regards, Paul

Hey Big Blu...

I'm sure you'll have no problem finding someone to show you some things when you're in N. GA. Just post here with your time frame and hopefully someone will step up at that time.

I'll question Anthony and/or David about the Motus dealership next time I'm at Riders Hill and if I hear anything more specific I'll let you know.
