Oh, I certainly agree communication could have been better in this situation. No question about that. That's a little why I feel Ramsey shouldn't judge the dealer so harshly. He was informed, and he had an opportunity to avoid the extra charge given what we've been told here.
I guess I can readily see it from the dealer's perspective because I was a dealer for so many years. During those years there were many a customer who claimed some minor scratch or mar was caused by our techs, yet often the tech did no work even remotely in the area of the mark. For that I can see the dealer erring on the side of caution. Like you, it's hard for me to see how that panel could be damaged, but then again, if I were the tech I might have pulled the crash bar just to make absolutely positive the customer couldn't later claim the panel was scuffed because I tried to squeeze the panel out with the crash bars still mounted. ???
Again, I'm not trying to argue or debate. I think you and I are on the same page, and can see both perspectives. ::003::
