Got up to some rain but loaded up the bike and drove to the track anyway. Rain was misty at track making dirt a little tacky. Some wind and temperature in the 70s . Had a great day . For once everyone crashed but me . But I’m slow.

So I take wife out to eat after she let me play today, restaurant allowed to seat at 100% capacity, just like old times. Had to wait to get a table.

So I click on this post and everything is posted and I can see the photos . oh well all is good now.
so the Saturday pictures are of the S p o a k s ( auto spell wants to over ride me ) track outside of Lockhart Texas . in most places when I had gotten out of bed at 430 am it was raining . so took the chance anyway and went to Lockhart and the track had only seen some sprinkles . probably only 15 people including my group at the track . it was very nice day . rain I think had scared most people away.
my group had myself and Chris and his daughter Shay and fellow forum member Carrot . there is a looped trail of easy to pay attention of 6.5 miles a lap. I did one lap , they all did 2 . while they did the 2nd I rode a practice motocross track . we cooked hotdogs for lunch and overall we had a great time .
so what did I learn .... the list is long .... but mostly I need to work on rear brake control , hard to feel rear bike with M/X boots . being a 2stroke there is not much engine braking and with the recluse there is none available at all . off power and pointing down hill is to free wheel , miss the rear brake and the fun factor just explodes . fortunately I'm pretty good with the front brake , but it is the rear that I need practice on.
with the new Beta I am relearning a lot as the honda who would stall at the worst times was causing me a complex , got to thinking I cant trust this thing . the Beta just 2 stroked over everything like a John Deere tractor . building some confidence in me as a rider that I can trust this bike . and as I get older I feel I can ride this Beta for a long time .

A guy at a rally let me take his recluse-equipped Beta for a spin, he had a rear hand brake on the clutch side of the bars. Now I know why......

third brake or left hand brake .... been looking at that for awhile , I can see where it might be a great help on the trails .... free wheeling down a steep trail and missing the rear brake (that's really on me as I have not practiced using it much , took awhile before I was some what competent on the honda with the rear brake ) will pucker you up ,always a turn at the bottom . I'm pretty good with the front and most of the trail conditions have allowed me to be aggresive at times when needed on the front brake. I believe I need to adjust the lever down some and start using it in some rear braking drills . but , the left hand brake is cool . and I like to farkle . so strong possibility I will add one . but not for awhile as other things demand my money.
any one out there run a 3rd brake lever or left hand brake lever ?

One thing you can do to help Terry is lock up rear wheel in a straight line and practice "skid turning" left and right with your foot brake. Adjusting the rear brake is simple if you are standing all the time. It gets tricky when you both sit and stand.

I'm not sure what rear brake pedal you have. A larger platform helps as well as removing the return spring and replacing the clevis with a Fasst Company one.
