I just bit the bullet and ordered the !

Like HoebSTer, I sold my previous suit - Rev'it Sand - and got a chunk of change to put toward the Klim. Didn't like dealing with the waterproof liners in the Sand (even though they work) so external rainsuit or gortex were the other options...

I Have the Revit Sand and don't share your impression of the rain performance. The outer layer soaks in a hurry and that moisture seeps through the seams of the rain liner. I don't know if I got a lemon, but I'm not inclined to go with Revit again because of this.

I hear you there. It was 90 on the way home a while ago, and my wrists were sweating (weird)! The only real beef I have with the jacket is that those cuffs are not removable. Since then, I figured I can fluff out the sleeve vents and I get the airflow I want up the arms.

I fixed the cuffs on my Badlands Pro with a pair of scissors, I know, kind of nasty thing to do to a jacket of this value but in several days of heavy rain those cuffs are not helpful when putting waterproof gauntlet gloves on under the jacket cuffs. I just completed a 6500 kilometer trip over 11 days in rain, snow and hot weather with the Badlands jacket and Traverse pants with no rain gear and could not be happier other than having to mod the sleeve foreskins. By the way none of the outer pockets are waterproof at all, nor are they advertised as being so.

These are two of the reasons I went for the Traverse Jacket. Water proof pockets and plenty of room if required at the cuffs. Options then to adjust clothing under jacket depending on conditions. From the Klim website: "All zippers covered with storm flaps to maintain waterproofness and to stop debris". "Inner cuff gasket"

Lattitude Arrived!!!! A few thoughts!!! OVerall, I think I may end up liking the jacket!!! Cuffs: rather have zippered open rather than only velcro. The forearms are proportionally smaller then the wrist area ( I already have it on the loosestflap tightness). The coller, when open there is nothing to hold it open, it just flaps in the wind. My initial thought was to send it back and get another AeroSTich Darien since I have already sold my old Darien!!! I may have to modify my jacket some for these dislikes.

Why did you sell your Darien?

How about the tall collar on the Lattitude? That was the main deal-breaker for me on this jacket as it really interfered with my head movement wearing my XD3.

I wanted something that appeared to be a bit better looking, as well as good function. Maybe I better just return this thing, then for the same money I have in this, go get the updated Darien with collar hold down buttons, and a felt liner. Hmm, now what!!!!

Not to 'jack, but you might also check out the Aerostich Derien and lite jackets and pants. Not as fancy, lower price, nice gear. Just a thought.

No, I think we posted about the same time. As I browsed the two pages of Klim comments I kept thinking Aerostich. Just replying to the OP.

We were on a ride this weekend with 3 other couples and one of them each had 'stich Darien jacket and pants and I thought they were very nice looking. I had not seen them before but every other ride is a sea of Klim wear. :)

I just bought a pair of the Mojave pants and first impression was that they were the nicest riding pants I had ever bought. It's hot here a lot so vented gear is a must. My street wear is a vented jacket and it's good for about 9 months of the year. I just add a gortex fleece jacket under it when it's cooler.

I don't think you can wrong with any of the high-end gear - it's all nice stuff!
I like the Klim stuff but I can't bring myself to spend $900 to $1200 for a jacket. I'm just too cheap. ::025::

There's plenty of info at advrider on the Latitude - most people seem to say that the collar softens and becomes less of a problem, and the flapping tab can be dealt with by tucking it behind itself...

I was tossing up between the latitude and badlands, tried both and the badlands just fit me better. I didn't want to spend the money but in the end said screw it! And got the badlands. There are other reasons to go for it as well, of course (better armor, ventilation etc). I'll have it this weekend.

Not much wrong with Aerostich - but most people seem find that sooner or later they leak, especially in the crutch. If waterproofness is important to you, that pretty much rules them out. On the other hand, the Klim stuff is "guaranteed never to leak".

DC, I had minor leaking of my Darien at times. This was due to it being dirty, and needed washing. Seriously!!! As soon as you wash the jacket, with Nik products, the outer fibers stand back up, and repel water. I don't understand this either, since the waterproofing membrane is the GoreTex on the inside of the outside cordura fabric.

I may be rethinking my position on the cuffs of my badlands, the guard kept the yellow jacket from traveling all the way up the sleeve today, and I was only stung once.

I've had a lot of cuff zipper failures on various jackets, so I view this as a plus.

That was my own way of comparing the jacket to my AeroSTich. I don't hear of many zipper failures on those jackets, although if you talked to one of their repair personnel, they might say differently.

I have been wearing the Aerostitch Roadcrafter II (two piece) since 1986. I bought my 2ed set 6 years ago. A great outfit but short on ventilation. Armor is not CE approved but probably fine. Water can pool in the crotch on a long, wet ride with uncomfortable results. You can't beat this suit for ease of entry and exit. The legs on mine are too narrow for dual sport boots like my Alpinestar Scouts. It's made in the USA so repairs and custom modification are easy.

I recently purchased the Klim Badlands Pro jacket and pants. I am very impressed with this outfit. I should be for the price. I like the armor upgrade from the 'Stich, especially the chest protection. I am looking forward to some warm weather so I can try the extra ventilation. The logos are way over the top for me but I toned them down with minor effort and a black Sharpie. i removed the back support belt and replaced it with the much more substantial BackaLine support belt that I already owned.

I rode for an hour this morning in a downpour that started as wet snow and changed to rain. All good. (Warm n Safe liner underneath). All i need now is a Pinlock visor for my XD3.
