Got the Jessie's ON!!! ::012::
Was the "1200" an option? Almost looks like it doesn't belong on the bike.DaFoole said:
They never mentioned it. I would have opted out but I guess that's just they way they come.TierHawg said:Looks great!

No... I asked Rick about that after I'd seen Striking Vikings "spy shots". The earlier version just had the usual cutouts. I told him I thought the "1200" looks cheesy and if there is another option I'd take it But there's not... Maybe it'll get a sticker or something over it if it bugs me too much...TierHawg said:Looks great!

Yep. Just not as obvious as it doesn't have the silver background. As I will eventually be tossing the silver muffler cover when I get a different exhaust it won't really be noticable.Don in Lodi said:Is there a 1200 lazer'd into the other rack as well?
I think it's the camera as I don't see it when I'm looking but notice it on the picture..... Will have to measure.justbob said:Does the left bag stick out a little more than the right ? Or is that just the camera angle ?
Whats the total installed width ?
Yes the advertised was 35.5" - I guess we gave up half an inch in order to keep the grab rails. OK with me I guess. If it had been an inch I'd say ditch the grab rails. Or make it optional via the use of spacers.DaFoole said:I think it's the camera as I don't see it when I'm looking but notice it on the picture..... Will have to measure.
The total installed width is 36".(which is wider than the advertised width IIRC) I measured the handlebars and got 38"
Had these on my DL1000 without any cross brace and I loaded the crap out of 'em. No issues. The new brackets look even better/stronger for holding weight than the old ones. My .02 cents.dcstrom said:Does anyone think it might be a problem that there is no reinforcement bar connecting the lower rear corners of the bags (ie, going from one side to the other)? IIRC the Jesse racks on my Wee had this. Seems to me this would be the area most prone to flex (assuming there's any flex at all...). One of the problems with the OEM bags is that they flex in this area (but the racks aren't as strong, so that may be the primary issue).
I'll have my bags on tonight so will give it a test!

Just went out and checked it out. Pretty tight fit for fingers/hands. Probably not going to work so well. Jesse had originally noted the elimination of the grab rails and changed that owing to the clamor about it.ceebus said:If it's not too much trouble, could you guestimate how much space there is between the bags and the passenger grab rails? Basically, I just need to know if the wife can actually use them. Thanks! Good looking setup!
Thanks a bunch. That's really disappointing because I was ready to pull the trigger on these. However, the wife requires both a backrest and the grab rails when we are riding quickly. The pannier search continues...DaFoole said:Just went out and checked it out. Pretty tight fit for fingers/hands. Probably not going to work so well. My suggestion (and my plan) is to put on a passenger backrest when they finally show up as my GF is not happy without one. Apparently Jessie is working on a conversion kit to eliminate the grab rails (which I wasn't for but now am....) and I will be buying it and tossing the grab rails when it appears. This will bring the bags in tighter which is OK by me. YMMV
