I was really excited to buy the Neotec, and it felt OK in the shop I tried in on and purchased it from, but what a mistake. I thought I would get used to it, rode around 50 miles a day for a couple days and it was not real great, feeling heavy, pressing on my glasses ect. Next day I had 100 miles or so planned. I like the flip up, I will say that, but the rest of it was horrible. Terrible noise even with vents closed, with vents open, beyond horrible, and the vents kept opening by themselves slightly, so I kept closing them off. Of course as before it was pressing my glasses into my nose with what felt like 10lb of weight. Speaking of weight, the helmet is heavy, but most all the weight is due to the chinball and associated metal brackets and all those up front give the helmet like 70% weight up front, 30% rear, so that is why the glasses get squashed on the nose. Looking through the shield there is so much optical distortion I was nearly sick after 50 miles to my destination. I was sure not looking forward to the 50 mile ride home. Again I thought maybe I would be OK and forget or get used to the helmet somehow, but no. I barely made it. I sold it and a Neotec will never be allowed to even visit my house again.
In 50yrs of riding I think only the mercury free carb stix from motion pro rate lower than the neotec out of all the things I've ever used.
Back to standard Arai for me.
