Update: Received my Nolan N104 back today (jan 27 2015) and all is fine.

Customer service at Nolan is great and they answer the phone fast and solve questions/issues.

My contact has worked with Nolan helmets for over 10 years and he knows his stuff.

I understand that a small percentage of modular helmets, can have the latching issue I had.

He suggested to always close the helmet gently and push from the center of the chin not the side.

So I am back on the road with my fixed helmet new 20S sena and my 2014 ES ... now if I can kick this cough .. the world in my b#tch ...

WARNING: Nolan N104 Evo (XXXL) flip up update. (After repair just a month ago for sticky release latch)

Update: Repeat of Sticky flip up latch. Latches only partly open when excessive pressure on the release (note: levers .. Nolan has two).

Called Nolan and as they had just replaced the latch release system on the first repair (Less than a month ago) ... they paid to have my helmet shipped back to them.

Today they (Nolan USA) should receive my helmet.

Will post with updates when I get more information.

I started using a Schuberth helmet when I was a motor officer then it was replaced three years later with a Shoei Multitec when Schuberth became unobtainable in the USA. Now that I retired I'm using a Schuberth C3 and I really like it. Next year I'm going to upgrade to a C3 Pro. I was able to demo one recently and it really worked for me.

I am using Schuberth C3 for 4 years now and 40k km. Very comfortable, no problem in bad weather, rain etc. For hot days, offroad and short rides I like my Uvex Enduro.

I'm starting to lean towards a Caberg Tourmax modular with the visor. Scared my dome won't fit though...

Used C3 for 3 yrs. Got C3 Pro last Nov on IMS show special and am super pleased with the incremental improvements, especially moves way more ventilation air. Audio quality much better with the updated SRC Bluetooth collar. You have to get what fits your head, but can recommend Schuberth wo/ reservation.

Bought a MT Flux as a temporary helmet (only £90) whilst my usual helmet was in a container crossing the Atlantic. Very comfy so bought with me and still using it ,or will if we ever finish with this winter.

My C3 got old so I replaced it with a Touratech Aventuro Mod (a Schuberth E1 with more ventilation).

Have a Schoei Neotech 2 like a friends' and he recently landed on the side of the face, slid along on the visor, then slid on a spot above and behind an ear. It was good to see the front stayed shut and how well the helmet held up.

Schuberth C3 is by far my favorite. Shoei Neotech, RF1100 and a Nolan just collect dust in my garage. The Schuberth is very comfortable and much quieter than the others.

I have a Shoei Neotec too. Decent ventilation but a bit on the heavy side. It's now been relegated to commuting duties.

Got a Scorpion EXO-GT920. Tight cheekpads require some break-in. Reasonably light for a modular and quieter than my last full face (HJC). It works well with my glasses and being able to flip it up is very convenient. It fits more like a full face than my old Sy-Max. Comes with flip down visor, breath guard and chin curtain. So far, I really like it.

I have two of them. A HJC RPHA Max and I just picked up a Shoei Neotec 2. Both are great helmets and are quiet. The Max is the lighter of the two, it comes in a 4 lb even with a Sena 20S installed.. The Shoei is a hair over 4 lb without a com unit. For noise the Shoei is quieter behind my windshield but the RPHA Max is quieter out in the wind. The both came supplied with a pin visor in the box.

Schuberth C3 basic here. Fits my head shape well and the pockets for the ear pieces are elongated so you can place them in exactly the right position. Very comfy too!

I’d like to try one but beside the weight I can’t find one that fits my long oval head.
My Arai Profile is very comfy but 10yrs old. I really need to update and would like to try one again.

Years ago I had a BMW Shurbert but it didn’t fit well.

Try HJC, Shoei or Nolan and Caberg, even Shark and Scorpion make modular helmets too.
