: Easy for you to say. If I only had to wait until April, like you, I wouldn't mind too much either.

I have been waiting a year already. They introduced the bike to the rest of the world in Feb, '10 and shortly after that I was one of several who called Yamaha USA and asked them to bring them here, even if they had to do a PDP to cover their bets. I am down to about 3 months now, so that is progress.Buckeye56 said:I understand folks not being happy with the apparent change in delivery dates. I ordered on Sept 2nd and hope that the S10 is here in time for a trip to Nova Scotia in August. But having waited since September, another month isn't going to make me jump ship. Keep the faith fellas, it will be worth the wait!

Ask yourself why this bike is coming to the USA in the first place? US!
So what would be the answer to getting Yamaha in gear to make this thing start in may as we were told? [size=18pt]us!
This is not a good thing for Yamaha or our dealers.
They will lose customers and hurt our dealers.
Contact Yamaha, and your dealer and have them contact Yamaha.
Lets get this thing rolling and put a fire under Yamaha's AS*#!

classification has not changed.
Foremost as a performance bike, and Geico as a sport bike..TEN YC said::question:  I will have to look into this. I had not looked into insurance yet. Just assumed it would be close to what a GS is. A "performance" bike? What company classified it liek this?
I have not seen the bike on any online quote systems yet.
If the insurance for this bike is like a sport bike I will cancel my order no question
I saw a post that Progressive was looking at it as an adventure bike like the KLR. It should be no different than a GS only better!japako said:Foremost as a performance bike, and Geico as a sport bike..
I saw that post, too. The only problem is that the quote from Progressive was from a general description of the bike. Once a VIN is used, the Yamaha designation as a sport bike will be what decides the actual rates. I think it was FredZ or Koinz that posted that, but I can't remember what thread it was in.Combo said:I saw a post that Progressive was looking at it as an adventure bike like the KLR. Vstrom a sport bike classification. I had the same bike and used Aegis insurance and it was classified as an adventure touring bike. So my insurance was very reasonable.Koinz said:I don't remember posting about the st10 insurance classification, but my vstrom was considered a sport bike. Insurance was more on that than my BMW. Go figure.
Is it really the manufacturer that determines the classification or the insurance companies?
The Versys is the same way.Koinz said:I don't remember posting about the st10 insurance classification, but my vstrom was considered a sport bike. Insurance was more on that than my BMW. Go figure.
