MOre then stands up. Correct me if I'm wrong but it was the first choice for all three testers. I believe the BMW was third.

Strange that you can't order single issues from their website. Guess I'll have to search around.

Yeah, I'm considering that, but it would mean having to read about BMW's, sport bikes and baggers for the other 11 months ;)

True.......I'm a damn MC addict so I have three motorcycle magazine subscriptions and still buy them off the shelf sometimes...... ::002:: It is a disease but the first step to a cure is knowing you have the problem I guess....... ::001::

My addiction includes Motorcyclist, Cycle World, Rider and American Motorcyclist (the AMA mag). I'm not interested in a cure. ::017::

If you guys have an iPad find and load the app "Zinio". It is a magazine app that lets you purchase subscription and or sigle issues.

I have a bunch of subsciption and Cycle World is one of them ::008::

Zinio is also available for Android! Great app that works fine on on my phone (Galaxy S2).

Is that Ryan "6 Inch Nads" Dudek on the front cover?
That's him. FINALLY a magazine does a review of our bike using journalists that have bona-fide dirt credentials! The review results were as expected with the KTM taking best in the dirt, the Tenere taking the best overall (and surprising them in the dirt) and the BMW coming in third ;D They also like the Tenere better than the BMW in the dirt saying the front end on the GS jumped around too much for their liking..... and get this, they said the S10 had 'loads of character' just a different type of character with the big bang twin feeling more like a single...DUH! They did rag about the lack of ABS off switch, but these fellas have the credientials to back themselves up, so I have no problem with it. They also commented on the S10s ability to get traction even with TC off due to the 270 deg crank.

Thumbing through the rag, the only full page ad I saw was from Kawasaki, so I think a lot of bias was removed from the picture. Oh, and they liked the beemer's engine best.

There's another short piece in there about an Italian rider taking the Tenere around the world...he still has Africa to go through, but to this point the bike has been dead-nuts realiable, needing only oil/fiter changes and a whole lot of tires :D

I let my subscription to CW lapse (Jan 2012 was my last issue) after I got mad at the endless coverage of Ducati, both on the covers and in the mag. I had also wondered why the heck they had never done a full test on test of the Super Ten after having done a "first ride" way back in November of 2010. I'll go grab one of these off the newsstand, not that I need any further convincing of the bike's goodness. ;) I do enjoy Peter Egan and Kevin Cameron too.

I haven't ridden a GS1200 but the motor on my bike has loosened up nicely and runs great. With TC off and S mode selected, I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that the beast will wheelie on throttle in 2nd gear. Woo hoo! ::26::

This tends to agree with most of the things owners have been saying on average. It appears to me that people with dirt backgrounds OR dirt backyards (like Seth Efika and Oz nearly always tend to give it better over all marks. Non dirt folks just might find it a bit intimidating and probably don't move around enough.

The Versys 1000 will win next years comparo then. ;D The engine will be best and Ryan will be sideways at 220Km/h on the front cover.

I picked it up last night and thumbed through it really quick today. They seemed to be pretty honest about the three bikes (BMW R1200GS and KTM 990 Adventure) It looks like they also put the factory optional side cases on all three bikes. They weren't too impressed with the BMW side cases, from what I read.

All in all, I thought it was a very honest take on the three bikes. The S10 has its own character, and it isn't the best at everything, but is very good at what Yamaha set out to make it do.

My opinion: I like to think my S10 is a jack of all trades. Which I like. I like the versatility. I like tools that can do more than one things decently. That may not be the case forever, but it is the case now.

Got it! Was able to find an electronic copy.... O:)

Nice and honest test. Don't understand their comments on the Ride by wire T versus S mode. But the S10 is their pick, so we should all be happy. ::022::

Just picked up a copy at ST.Louis airport. I am not usually a CW fan, but the whole mag had good articles leaning towards this style of riding. Good write up for the Tenere!
