Would like to see it first and what the pricing will be...
Haha, yeah not expecting it by June. I was just demonstrating my need. I'll be running this bike for a while so I can wait. I have a solution for June. Buying the safari tank is a no brainer as imagine how easy it will be to resell on this forum.rtwpaul said:i was talking with someone with a 10 US gallon tank on a KLR and their range is ridiculous...
obviously you just fill with what you need but great to have that option, but even if the numbers are right i don't think it would happen for your ride in June
I noticed I'm not on the list. Cheersrtwpaul said:new names added ::015::
Hi Paul,rtwpaul said:added you
at this point its just a case of getting numbers, once we have enough then i'll send the info over to the various tank makers...they will be the ones to determine the price, at that point you make your decision
frank, give me their names and i'll add them...Northernstar said:Hi Paul,
Any idea about how many interested parties are needed prior to submission to the manufactures? I have a couple of buddies in Asia riding S10's who would be really interested in these as well and don't really know how to add their names to the list or you could simply add 2 more on the 2nd category.
Appreciate all the work you are doing for the riding community,
Frank

I'm not a demographic and in Australia at least 250 miles much of it in low gear is too near the edge of range and for the want of a gallon or two of fuel, I want to stop when I want to stop and often that is tank to tank for me. 800-1000km is possible but not parked in a servo filling up again, I do believe the USA has remote areas may be I'm wrong. Being caught without fuel can kill you here, and again I believe that is also the case in the US.EricV said:Market demographics. The big S10 is already perceived as top heavy by many riders. Most people I talk to don't ride tank to tank with short range bikes, never mind a 250 mile range bike. Add to that a reliable supply of fuel nearly everywhere in the US, including at night w/24 hr pumps, (except OR where there is no true self serve gas), and most people simply have the time to stop and don't require the range.
Agree. My next trip is to Birdsville in outback Queensland. To explore the national parks etc, extra fuel is a must to have a safety margin. I would prefer to have it in the tank than on the bike somewhere. Probably only carry ten extra litres but that makes a real difference for planning purposes.Roge said:I'm not a demographic and in Australia at least 250 miles much of it in low gear is too near the edge of range and for the want of a gallon or two of fuel, I want to stop when I want to stop and often that is tank to tank for me. 800-1000km is possible but not parked in a servo filling up again, I do believe the USA has remote areas may be I'm wrong. Even day to day commuting for me has me filling up twice a week, personally I don't like it so once a week would be good.
This thread was to get names for those that want a tank, not for folk to preach why we should not need one.
this is a Chinese rip off of a rotopax fuel cell, and as i said in the first post as i'm riding two up this option doesn't work, because of space and layout...if i was a solo rider this is my deal, i ran two rotopax on my xt660z tenere and had over a 400 mile range when i was in south america, it was great, now looking for the same ranhe for the S10greg the pole said:this is probably not the solution you guys are looking for but, it may be a cheap fix.

With a easy throttle hand this could give a 800km combined range @ 5l/100km
if mounted properly, it could take items strapped to the top etc.. and for a $125 or so bucks
