There was some damage after all......

All, Thanks for the advice and sorry for the late reply, that is my fault. Things got a little busy and it took me two weeks (or longer, I lost track of time) to get the replacement fan. I kept the old radiator. Installing the fan was a little difficult as the mounting holes are no longer...

Sorry about that everyone... This is strange, I see images on my machine (honestly I do)...... I used to post photos through photobucket but before posting I decided to see if the instructions have changed (they have) so instead I uploaded the photos to Google photo. Copied the URL as...

There was some damage after all......

Well, long story short two weeks ago I decided to take an ill-advised water crossing. Everything was going well until I hit a rock that had to be about 1-foot tall. The bike lurched to the right and I went down. After much work, and some help from my friends, I managed to finish the crossing...

    New Avon TrekRider

Sorry everyone, (Stridey particularly) I kinda fell asleep (went away) for a while. Just started to return to the forum again and saw a thread about the trailriders and mileage and remembered that I kinda let things fall off.....a cliff. Update, I now have 3500 miles on the Trekrider tires...

    Headlight bulbs

Hogmolly, you are absolutely correct. If it is high voltage, even in short bursts slowly degrading the bulb, I would guess that the problem may follow vehicles with the same charging / regulator system as the Forester, if that were the root cause.

    Headlight bulbs

One of the causes for shortened insulation life with the use of inverters, ballast, CCFL inverters, and other high voltage and high dv/dt systems is that the corona ionizes the air surrounding and trapped in the minute imperfections of the insulation. This mechanism contributes to the...

New bike .... And I'm having a trouble already ??

I fully agree with you concerning the flip phone, I have one and it is at least 5-years old, and it does exactly what I need it to do. Not that I dislike smart phones and I do see their benefits, just simply too expensive to have one. Off the grid? ::026:: I don't consider myself away from...

    New Avon TrekRider

Thank you for the feedback and correct, the Trailrider tire is marked down quite nicely, but overall they are only about $20 less per tire (not chump change but not that drastic either). Despite good reviews, and the price, I decided to take the risk and purchase as set Trekriders for the more...

    New Avon TrekRider

Reviving an old thread.......for those in the USA looking at the Avon TrekRider. I just noticed that a number of re-sellers in the USA, like Revzilla, now appear to show inventory which can be ordered. I've been looking and waiting as I need new tires myself. To be honest though, knowing...

    The coming economy and us

Yup, on the satirical side this is what I envision will be there once I retire (if I make it there :))), many years down the road.... You have to be in the “game” (investing) if you plan to retire comfortably, which ultimately is where the responsibility should really be (with the...

    The coming economy and us

Great initial post and for those that have participated, great responses. It appears that this exercise was initiated as a way of becoming a better investor (to support / better enjoy your retirement). I by no means am a great investor but I do try as my goal is to retire comfortably (I've got...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Went for a ride with a friend to the Savage Mountain area of southwester PA and north western Maryland. The roads in Maryland are nice but very interesting. You can be riding along on a two lane road then suddenly it reduces to single land then in as short as 100ft your in DIRT! To be honest...
