3 of us, all on ST's went from Winter Park to Kremmling on dirt roads. Some were county, some were that type you never want to be on when its wet & some 2 track. One of the trails we took started out as washed out & with lots of ruts from other vehicles. Farther down we started running into mud hole after mud hole after mud hole. Thankfully most were dry but there were several big ones that were not. Several of the holes were 2-3 feet deep. I wound up taking a lot of the mud back home with me. 2 of us went down at different spots at zero mph because of how slippery the mud was. I bent my shift lever to the point where I couldn't shift up or down. I'm very glad & had a flexiable end on the shifter. The damage would have been much worse. I had to do some bending back into place to make it work & stay away form the engine case. There were a couple of areas with trees across the road & one spot they were stacked from 2 ft to about 5 ft high with no way around them. We found a nearby canal trail that hadn't been used in a long time. It was leading us away from where we wanted to be. There were downed trees across this trail too that we were able to muscle out of the way. We could see where we should have been down in the valley but there was to much downfall to do any cross country riding. We keep following the canal trail & came out on a little lake with a FS gate that was thankfully unlocked. We went further down the road thru a field filled with cows to another gate :'(. This one had 6 or 8 locks on it with no way around. None of us wanted to go back the way we came. I played with the chain a bit & it fell apart in my hands. One of the locks was not locked after all. ::012::. We continued down the road a bit farther to, low & behold another gate. This one was unlocked, we passed thru & we are on a county road.

We were to take one road over the mountain by Williams Fork Reservoir, but were blocked by a locked gate & a private property sign. We wound up having to back track to WFR & went around it on the south & west sides to make it to Kremmling.

Here is the video that I put together from that ride https://youtu.be/2KTN7Q_rtEo

Hi All, I took an advanced riding class today with the S10. It was awesome! Lots of breaking, swearing, steering tricks. I had no idea the S10 can be so agile . I feel so much more confident now after talking this class, that a fellow classmate with a GS and I called "dancing with the elephants". If you have never done such a class, I highly recommend it!

It was like one of those relationship workshops. Now I'm even more in love with my S10 ::025::

Took mine through Zion on Monday with the Tour of Utah pro bike race. Clearwater developed a special lighting system to illuminate the tunnels.

Went for a ride with a friend to the Savage Mountain area of southwester PA and north western Maryland. The roads in Maryland are nice but very interesting. You can be riding along on a two lane road then suddenly it reduces to single land then in as short as 100ft your in DIRT! To be honest that was a good thing as it was one of the goals for the day's ride (to find new gravel and dirt roads). The second purpose was to participate in the moto tag game but I missed out on the wind turbine photo. :'(

In the end, it did not matter as it was a great day. ;D And well, I'm not letting some of the images go to waste so enjoy!

A few photos of the days ride.

Wind turbines just outside Meyersdale PA:

Piney Run Dam (Maryland):

Space Shuttle (a bit further north just south of 22 in PA):

Did a SS2000 this weekend MA to GA and back. Testing out new LEDRider lamp and some quick fuel stop technique. Didn't know I came within 10 miles of the dragon, next time because heck it's only a days ride away now.
Oh yea and Tour of Honor stop at GA1 site

Not today but Sunday, so it may not counts? Took a ride out to the Susten Pass, then over to the Grimsel Pass then connected to the Furka Pass and back home, 240 miles of maybe 100+ hairpin turns, I was getting kind of dizzy. And the squids were out in force, oblivious to the fact that if I had to brake hard they would ride right into me and take me out with them. They blast past only to sit on the tail of a car 40ft ahead, and so it goes. Then I ride past them while they refuel.... I just don't get the need to ride so fast and hard, what's the point, you never see what's around you, and so I spent a majority of my time watching out for these idiots. Great views though, still had snow at some of the pass' peaks.

thru the southern edge of Montana and the northern edge of Wyoming last month it rarely got below 100 during the day. Normally that far north I've hit 85-95F during high summer, 'sort of makes me wonder what Death Valley has been like. This would be Wall Drug in the Dakoda's at seven thirty at night. 'Note the temp on that bank thermometer:

I wore an evaporative cooling vest under a mess armor setup. It worked extremely well in keeping me comfortable. I am told those vests only work in dry climates. I am back home now and the climate here includes oppressive humidity levels. It is just as uncomfortable here at 90 with the humidity. ::008::

I have moisture wicking shirts, cooling vests, mesh jackets, camel back water systems, you name it. They all help to some degree. The one I actually use the most now is this; packs small, can be recharged without taking your mesh jacket off (or risking damage to any electronics you may be carrying) & feels like you turned on the AC:

'amazing piece of kit I almost didn't buy but I'm glad I did.
