One of the trails we took started out as washed out & with lots of ruts from other vehicles. Farther down we started running into mud hole after mud hole after mud hole. Thankfully most were dry but there were several big ones that were not. Several of the holes were 2-3 feet deep. I wound up taking a lot of the mud back home with me. 2 of us went down at different spots at zero mph because of how slippery the mud was. I bent my shift lever to the point where I couldn't shift up or down. I'm very glad & had a flexiable end on the shifter. The damage would have been much worse. I had to do some bending back into place to make it work & stay away form the engine case. There were a couple of areas with trees across the road & one spot they were stacked from 2 ft to about 5 ft high with no way around them. We found a nearby canal trail that hadn't been used in a long time. It was leading us away from where we wanted to be. There were downed trees across this trail too that we were able to muscle out of the way. We could see where we should have been down in the valley but there was to much downfall to do any cross country riding. We keep following the canal trail & came out on a little lake with a FS gate that was thankfully unlocked. We went further down the road thru a field filled with cows to another gate :'(. This one had 6 or 8 locks on it with no way around. None of us wanted to go back the way we came. I played with the chain a bit & it fell apart in my hands. One of the locks was not locked after all. ::012::. We continued down the road a bit farther to, low & behold another gate. This one was unlocked, we passed thru & we are on a county road.
We were to take one road over the mountain by Williams Fork Reservoir, but were blocked by a locked gate & a private property sign. We wound up having to back track to WFR & went around it on the south & west sides to make it to Kremmling.
Here is the video that I put together from that ride https://youtu.be/2KTN7Q_rtEo
